Yes this is just the start of a larger drill program to upgrade and delineate the existing ore body. Second phase will likely have more drill holes and third will be the infill drilling between the second set to "fill in the gaps" of the geologic map for the structure.

Big high sulphidation zone, a lot of rock that should be a main host of silver in the deposit, pyrine at the end of the sulphidation hole indicating possibility for porphyry (pan man please correct these if I'm wrong). The ore bodies at silver cliff and georgetown are proven, some of the first in the state to be mined. Very well understood and surveyed. Most of the really good ore was shipped out in the 1800's but richer operations have continued right up into the 1990's.

there's no question that there's silver and gold there. The only question they're hoping to answer is if it's worth mining right now, I'd guess.

Felt like adding some things, will be interesting to see if I'm right or not when assays return

>Four holes were drilled to further define the Kate East high grade zone. Hole DDH-20-01 drilled in this zone showed some spectacular acanthite mineralization. Acanthite is a common silver mineral in moderately low-temperature hydrothermal veins and in zones of supergene enrichment. Acanthite, a silver sulfide mineral (Ag2S) is the most important mineral of silver in the Kate mineral deposit.
So this one hole in the high-grade zone is possibly going to have some great intercepts of silver
>Five of the holes were drilled to expand the resource defined in Viscount's NI 43-101 report by Dr. Gilles Arseneau of ACS in 2018.
If they get enough data they can increase mineral resource estimates
>Hole DDH-20-05 was drilled in the Passiflora target area. Moderate sulfidation and silcification was encountered at 40 feet (12.1 meters) and continued to 564 feet (179.9 meters). Here, a zone was encountered of marked increase in sulfidation and silicification. This was the target zone based on early historic drilling done in the 1980s. It persisted to about 610 feet (184.5 meters), which was longer than expected. Moderate pyrite was observed to the end of the bore. The core from the 10 holes has been submitted to the lab for assays and will be news released when received.
Okay so moderate sulphidation and silcification from 12m to 180m. So there's a possibility for intercepts there. Increased sulphidation from 180m to 184.5m and moderate pyrite at the end of the bore. Increased sulphidation should point towards higher chance of gold mineralization, and pyrite can sometimes host gold. If there are little base metals in the host rock and the pyrite is evenly distributed, this could be a Carlin-type gold deposit.

Pan Man pls fix if wrong again

Silver Cliff was given its name because the ore runs up a gulch in the cliff. It's actually just a very steep slope in the canyon, around 800 feet high, with multiple bands of cliffs crossing it. It's very hard to work on, and historically the ~100 silver and gold mines situated in the gulch shared a couple tram lines to a single mill at the bottom of the slope. That mill is now a gravel pit operation with low grade silver and gold.

the ore body is a primary type enrichment and is the same ore that produced massive gold strikes at the lower towns of georgetown and idaho springs. It was an enormous dome of granite, typical of the rocky mountains and the laramide orogeny. The granite cracked in millions of places during the uplift, and around the early paleogene (tertiary for the old school) was infilled with hydrothermal deposits of quartz, pyrite, gold, silver, and lead. Most of the silver veins in that valley were below the water table and were lost, so it's primarily a gold belt. An extremely rich gold belt, but one that's been mined out consistently for 160 years now. Silver cliff is high enough that the silver mineral remained, as small but extremely rich deposits in the quartz veins running through the native granite. All confined to a very narrow vertical band of ore on the cliff side, getting richer near the top. At the top of the cliff silver peters out and gold mines replace it.

there is relatively little supergene enrichment of the surrounding granite because it's fairly impermeable to water and the ore deposit isn't particularly old or deep.

how much they find will depend on a lot of factors, mostly how deep the mines already go. But I'd expect narrow quartz veins in extremely solid granite carrying high grade silver and not much around them. The silver zone itself is extremely tall, but very narrow if surface strikes are an indication. It also is relatively shallow.

I see that Krugerands are often the closest 1oz coins to spot value I can find. Also looking at Silver Eagles, Austrian Philharmonic and Indian/Buffalo. Is there any reason to choose one over another?

Krugerands make sense but my understanding is that silver eagles and buffalo's are easier to sell and command a higher price.

People here don’t like Philharmonics because the edge of the coin isn’t reeded, so theoretically someone could shave off slivers of silver and you wouldn’t notice. So any design that you fancy or the cheapest premium you can get its your choice. Is that fancy looking gold coin with a higher premium going to pay off the higher premium for having a higher numismatic value in the future? Probably won't be an issue to worry about.

There are some benefits to coins backed by a government or nation, depending on where you live. Laws against counterfeiters and liquidity.

Here in the UK coins of the realm (with the queens head on it or past sovereign) are capital gains tax free and most gold is VAT free (20% tax)
Silver has a 20% tax (apart from pre-owned silver which has no VAT)

So do some research on you countries regulations and such for their benefits, if it doesn’t impact you that much just go ahead and pick out the shiniest pretty one.

Sorry for the newfag question I'm about to ask.

But why hasn't silver's prices risen in line with the gold prices? I bought some silver eagles a couple of months ago back in early April. And I was expecting silver to rise dramatically just like gold did?

But instead, the silver price has bearly bugged. And the disconnect between silver prices and gold prices (which according to supply there should only be 9x difference. but instead there is more like 90x currently.) has remained the same.

Also a pic of some of my stack. (haven't left their bags since I bought them otherwise they'd lose value.)

The one you need to talk to is JPMORGAN. They are rigging it with the FED to allow the current system to run on. If silver corrects or gold corrects to fair value, then the entire system goes bust. Like the interest rates and bond yield. Think of it as the world paying you money to take something that is suppressed 30000x the real value.

But will silver and gold be able to correct to their fair value?

What is to stop JPMorgan from suppressing and rigging the prices forever?

It's something I noticed by looking back at the March crash. Gold and silver absolutely should not have dipped with the rest of the stock market.

Because gold and silver are long term store of value similar to houses. And no I know would be dumb enough to dump their physical commodities like that just because of the over-inflated stock market shiting its bed. And Yet in spite of that, there was a large almost coordinated dump of Silver and gold regardless?

Will silver and gold be able to reach their true value before the next market crash? and if it does what stops Jpmorgan from dumping its prices again?

No, that's historically normal as traders are forced to liquidate positions to meet calls.
https://goldsilver.com/blog/how-would-gold-perform-in-a-second-stock-market-crash
What Gold does do is retain its value in the proceeding second crash, and gain value relative to all other assets in the years proceeding.

What we are waiting for is the trigger to the second crash, which might not even happen since the market is now irreversibly addicted to constant Fed injections, in which case we were right, and assets can only lead the climb in price, dragging everything else up eventually on our path to hyperinflation.

No, I don't think this state of affairs can last forever. The elite themselves plan on throttling it if nothing else, even if things were not already wildly unstable to the point of comedy.

However, what I worry about is the Idea that JPMorgan and other market manipulators will be able to outlast the rest of society.

Thus making it an open question on whether one should buy gold and silver right now. Or should they make a mad scramble to buy it during the next crash (where JPMorgan will presumably try to dump and supports the silver&gold price like they did back in march)

And if they do manage to do one of the above, How long will it take for the silver&gold price to correct themslevs back to ther true value?

The thing is, you're not the only one who would do that. Everybody will be making a beeline for precious metals when another big crash happens. If it's physical you're looking to buy at that time, you will still pay a hefty sum in premiums due to the huge surge in demand.

I, myself, feel comfy in my geographic location and personal well being, but I'm fucking horrified for what the next 5-10 years hold for everyone else. Its easy to forget that, coronavirus aside, the world was pretty dickered this year and everyone is just assuming things will work out fine. The massive flooding in Asia combined with their porcine problems, the clusterfuck that is Central and South America, the fault lines being shown in the European Union, and the entirely separate narratives that people base their lives on in the United States. That doesnt include the global debt binging and absurd overleveraging of corporations.

The world has felt the thrum of nationalism again in recent years, and I can only see traditionalism and stability gaining further popularity parallel to the continued rise of progressive politics. Relative to currency, precious metals are undoubtedly going to go up.

Yeah it's kind of weird to me. Maybe it's just because not much has changed. The October recap was pretty much identical to this one except it had music I liked more lol. Also probably better in the future to show H1 & H2 only instead of 12 different videos for each month of the year.

By the way did you ever have the chance to look at Moneta Porcupine? I'm currently in the process of DD'ing them and am still very bullish although a mention of an old lawsuit in their financial statements made me curious. Couldn't find anything regarding it (found something on another one but that was dropped). I wonder if you noticed this, provided you looked at the company yet of course.

Not trying to pressure you to make the work for me or anything of course, but if you did have a look I just felt like asking you whether you saw that or maybe even found some official documents on that.

>> No.24782674

I am still DDing it as well and I too saw the lawsuit, there is a lot to go over on that project. It does seem pretty good but again I need to dig further down. Also just to mention, look at that map and those properties belonging to International Explorers, fuckers didnt want to pay for multiple assessment reports and just went along on the online claim map linking everything, thats so silly.

>Also just to mention, look at that map and those properties belonging to International Explorers, fuckers didnt want to pay for multiple assessment reports and just went along on the online claim map linking everything, thats so silly.
I did notice that the claim structure to the north of Moneta looks very silly but didn't know why that was the case. Looks very funny yeah

>> No.24782776

>>24782717
its because they cheaped out on filing multiple claim assessments. By tieing all three of those properties together they save money, but its stupid honestly because that extra assessment work on the linking ground adds up over time. Not a wise choice but you see it all the time too.

The way I see it, they're both a hedge play on inflation that one in the same. Physical collection basically is the storing of your wealth immediately and once inflation occurs you are essentially your own bank. Spot prices don't seem to have the volatility that paper trading seems to have. In one instant, institutions decide they have substantial profit and coordinate a massive dump. You wake up with all your profits gone, while appt remains (relatively) in better shape.

The most important point is that options have time value. If you get the timing wrong, you lose everything. It could be as bad as just by being off by one day. It doesn't matter, you lose everything. Buying physical PMs eliminates the time decay present in derivatives.

Glad to see such independent thinking. You clearly know what you're doing, much more than I (though I try to learn). Many just want to be spoonfed over here at /biz/ and it's sad to see when it backfires. I'll add about Lion One that the share price seems to have settled, it refuses to go down from its current price. Take that as a little appetizer :)
>>24784751
Yeah I'm very comfortable with my current stack and I'm going hard into miners, or as hard as I feasibly can with my budget and cashflow. Futures I will never touch but I've been thinking about warrants or maybe even options, sadly my brokers don't offer Canadian warrants or options. But good companies will fare very well and for my power level those will do just fine.

>> No.24785020

>>24776486
Discovery is great, but market cap is getting a bit high so that's one thing to watch out for. Lion One has really good geology so it's a solid buy now, although price has tanked pretty hard recently. Wallbridge is solid. Mcewen is a solid at these prices, and has a good chance of outperforming during next two years to play catchup to the other miners. Metallic minerals tanked a lot since the pullback, so it's actually a really good accumulation time. I recently bought shares to it. There aren't a lot of pure silver plays outside of Mexico and south America so I really like Metallic Minerals.

Really it's a bad time to be cutting and re-balancing to other commodities which have shot up. You're basically momentum chasing and there's a good shot of being burned, especially that Gold and Silver have pulled back so much you're basically selling the bottom to buy the top of something else. Hard spot to be in, but remember to re-balance when your stocks are doing really well, not when they're pulling back.

Uranium, Copper was a great buy in July, Gold and Silver are a great buy now.

chart doesn't look convincingly like we break out this week. Don't get your hopes up guys, but we're in the last cheap accumulation zone for years. I've finished maxing out my miners investment this month. We may even get a false breakdown to the 19$ and 1650 zone within two weeks, but it's off from there. One last dump to wash out the weak hands.

But remember that's all paper silver and gold. Physical silver is trading at April levels of premium, that tells you all you need to know. Last time I saw premiums this high I backed up the truck. I'm tempted to yolo a bunch of money into NML, but something inside me keeps telling me that I'm just going to lose like half my money off the bat. I know there probably won't be a lot of shares up for grabs when it starts trading, but I'm still a little worried that it will be a major pump and dump. I heard that schiff was one of the first angel investors, but has he ever spoken about the prospect publicly? I'm worried that it'll cost me like 4 bucks a share if I buy it via NML. I really wish there was a way to get a proper valuation of it.

Truth is there is no way of hyper inflating gold because there is no way of getting it in large quantities in relation to your own economy except killing another civilization and taking their gold

Even if you perfect fusion transmutation from bismuth/lead is still impossibly expensive and difficult, your likely to end up with unstable gold isotopes that will kill you

Space mining is extremely difficult and far outside mankind’s technological reach
Any civilization capable of large scale commercial gold mining in space would have advanced so much in other areas that golds purchasing power would have increased despite asteroid mining
