Why can companies refuse you for any reason but they turn a tantrum if you turn them down for a job?

>> No.24735343

Because you let them have a tantrum

>> No.24735387

they expect all workers to be easily manipulable slime by default that will shut up and take it

They are all pretending to each other that the company is the best ever so they feel good about there place in life. If someone challenges their delusion they flip out as a way of protecting there psyche.

The same reason why it's ok for them to lay you off with no notice, but expect you to give two weeks

This made me think of a situation I had about 5 years ago before I got my current job

>get interview at a company
>do the interview, it goes well, hiring manager basically offers me the job on the spot
>asks me to sign the employment forms
>I ask 'how much will I be getting paid?'
>manager: 'that will be negotiated later, but it will be competitive'
>'Well Im not signing that unless I know how much I'm being paid'
>manager: 'Well then you probably won't have much success finding a job' then he basically asked me to leave (in a somewhat cordial manner, I'll give him that)
>2 days later get an interview at a competing company, that's way bigger and more successful (the largest in Canada, 3rd largest in North America)
>Same thing, offered a job on the spot, but the manager says I'll be making $30/hour and can start monday
>Tell him the story about the last company
>'*laughs* Well its reassuring to know I'm not hiring a pussy who won't stand up for himself, if I just hired a bunch of yes-men, we wouldn't be the most profitable company here'
>5 years later and I'm still there

I guess the moral of the story is that there's good and bad everywhere

It's usually a sign of bad management. It means they pre planned a bunch of shit assuming you were going to take the job

And then everyone clapped
