For context, I work for a small painting contractor company, the Dunder Mifflin equivalent to CertaPro and Five Star Painting. I go to people's houses to estimate how much it will cost the homeowner to paint the house, send the homeowner the quote, and if they choose to go with our little company I manage the subcontractors who actually do the painting. Why I want to leave is a whole different story. We pay for leads through an app called HomeAdvisor - HA spits out leads, I call the leads to set up the estimate.

I wanted to make the switch from outdoor sales to indoor sales, and HomeAdvisor had a job opening as an indoor salesman. I would be selling HA to contractors instead of painting services to home owners.

>job interview starts
>recruiter is a bald 300 pound African lady
>couple easypeasy BS questions strengths/weaknesses, background, etc.
>"anon, pretend I'm a contractor, how would you speak to me to try to sell HA"
>jokingly, "Pinten más rápido, estúpidos simios!!!!"
>lady is not african-american, she is afro-latino
>she responds, "no contratamos a personas poco profesionales como tú"
>she hangs up zoom call
>gets stereotypical rejection email 5 minutes later

I one time interviewed for a dispatcher position and had a captain ask me " so what did you do to prepare for this interview today" im guessing took a shower and showed up wasnt the correct answer seeing as I never got a call back.

If anyone ever gets a job at HomeAdvisor, I got a good scam, it's my buddies scam that I intended to copy, but I am sharing it with /biz/ because you are always here for me when I'm down

>Create fake contracting companies. Will need to put in some effort with a legitimate LLC, company credit card, etc.
>"Sell" the service to these fake contracting companies
>Cancel the service right before a month, so the fake companies aren't charged
>Commission far outweighs costs to create fake company

My guy at the headquarters of HA in Denver who makes 350k a year doing this scam. I blew it because of a fucking joke

I remember when I first graduated college, I applied to like 800 jobs and when I finally got an in person interview one of the questions was “where do you see yourself in 5 years” and I unironically answered “I don’t know” and everyone in the room started laughing. I didn’t get the job

I missed mine because my alarm didn't go off. Now I have to work at some cringe factory.

i've never worked anything but temp jobs, i legitimately wonder what the answer to that question is supposed to be

like youre sitting there applying to be a bus driver or something and they ask you that

"in 5 years? working here of course!"

it seems like such an absurd question even by the societal matrix's standards

Jesus christ. What fucking sector are you in? You didn't specialize, did you? I'm an anxious semi-shitty interviewee but I still have gotten offers of employment from like 80% of my interviews.

Call them back and tell them you're a DIA holder. I bet they hire you.
