None, basically. 4 years of not getting paid, not getting work experience, not moving up and getting job skills is way too long. Even if the degree were free it's not worth it, especially when you can get massive gains running your own business or dumping your paycheck into crypto over 4 years.

If you price it out you'll see that I'm correct.

engineer getting an MBA at a top 20 school. It's a good compliment if you are ambitious. a real MBA (not some sub 20 no name school) is less about the actual education and more about the network it provides you. It's a much more intangible advantage that generally takes a while to pay off. Alot of my class have an engineering background and are jumping to consulting/banking/some other high paying job because engineering just doesn't provide that unfortunately. It is a great background to have and I'm glad I have a strong math and problem solving skillset. People without strong math backgrounds are insecure and rightfully so. Excel scares them.

Get the engineering degree to have a solid foundation then go work hard and get into the field you want. Or get into a top tier finance program, work hard, and get a job at a bank then do whatever you want.

Now you dont even need a degree to do it, you just go to a Bootcamp and walk out and your "qualified". If you dont want to pay for a Bootcamp just self teach yourself.

The barriers of entry are so low and there's no way the demand is going to be able to keep up with supply for 10 years. 1 of two things have to happen; lower wages or fewer job openings.

I especially dont want to join a field that sees you as useless and too old the second you turn 35.

None. Anyone who says STEM is listening to boomer advice. The raw data shows that STEM is actually one of the worst fields for job opportunities right now due to oversaturation. But people will still parrot advice from 10 years ago not realizing that everyone already took that advice and made STEM degrees worthless. There are too many degree holders and not enough jobs to satisfy them, especially in CS where you either get lucky enough to make it or have your job openings all filled by Durgasoft.

Finance is kinda lacking in degree holders if you really wanna try that. But the moment people realize that and change the narrative, that's when those degrees become oversaturated from stupid boomers who can't read datasets.

- engineering
- finance
- accounting
- CS (with internship)
- marketing
- law (graduate)

but college is ineffective for job training. the worthwhile majors are those with long academic histories:

- math
- physics
- philosophy
- history
- classics
- theology
- english (be careful most departments are rad lefts(

don't get into serious debt getting them, find a cheap state school or community college.

Not everyone wants to work at a shithole little company that pays dogshit salaries. If you want nearly ANY lucrative job at ANY decent sized company, you have to have a degree. Doesn’t really matter what it’s in, but it weeds out the ponytail autists that think they deserve a salary for knowing how to code.

In fact, college is going to be a SHIT SHOW next year because of "covid" I guarantee you.
It might be better to wait a year even if you are dead set on college.

Main thing is that you possibly have a $100,000 starter fund if you play your cards right.

Business degrees are the most popular major iirc, and most corporate business roles are being automated away, plans to automate away, or require nontrivial tech skills now.

Engineering degrees are great, often more difficult than computer science and you will need to program for those degrees anyways. Most engineering majors can get tech jobs with their existing math/logic skills if they do a bootcamp.

But the engineering industry field itself is quite saturated (excl petro and a few small ones), and pays worse than software development.

engineering, physics and so on, Engineering degrees for example have highest drop out rate of all degrees because people with poor visual memory enter thost studies and making it too
much of a burden for them. Programming skills for example highly dependant on visual memory that is mostly inborn skill not something you
can learn. Anything that requires math and numbers. And if you score low in verbal memory dont go for certain humanities that requires vicirous memorizing of words, like foreign languages and so on

I'm definitely not planning on going public or starting my own practice. I am conflicted on even trying to get a CPA since I don't want to commit to something I may not even put to use. I know I could land some entry accounting roles. I unironically feel that I have practically no hard skills though. Very conflicted but my gut tells my I'll enjoy IT more than accounting or at least a combination of the two

Is pharmacy degree worth it? Would it lead to a high paying job like medicine after graduating with a doctorate, or would I be left with a huge student debt, and < six figures salary for life?

Neither do we want you to. People shilling CS are not in the industry. I want less competition, not more.

You should think about what job you are trying to get, and use that to pick a degree.

CS isn't the worst field to go in really. It's dependent on your location and what skills the company is looking for specifically. If you wanna do something web development wise you can try a bootcamp but you'll need to focus on a framework like Angular or React afterwards as many companies use those.

You'll be surprised just how shitty most coders are and the ones they outsource to India are some of the absolute worst. Now most companies are starting to realize they need actual competent workers now.

Whatever you do be at least competent in it.

I graduated with a masters in accounting a year ago but I hate the work and something like HVAC that has physical labor sounds more interesting and Id want to KMS less.

My dad paid for my (very cheap) education so no loss there but IDK if you can do HVAC when you're weak as fuck, Im 6"0" 140 lbs and can't put on muscle for shit

I mean you can teach yourself computer science too but personally i didnt get past the first chapter of khan academy for calc I before going back to shitposting.
Also Ive read learning about compilers is useless so you can skip that one.
Also know a little bit of javascript and python i guess but once you do you quickly find out how big the iceberg is.

>What’s the hardest part of the electrical engineering curriculum
the secret no one will tell you is that at some point they will pull you aside and zap you with electricity straight from the tap. they call it the 'zap test'. a sick ritual going all the way back to the tesla/edison beef days.
supposedly allows you to 'see the electromagnetic universe in it's full glory'. but really it's just like the drowning they do in the SEALs. you die by zapping, then they zap you back alive. sick sick stuff.
