Not really but I do trade meme stocks that respect support and resistance. I trade TSLA on the open a lot since it tends to have a lot of volatility in the first 30 minutes or so, really good for scalping. As far as stuff like GME, PLTR, etc. not really. I'm not necessarily against it though.

Title is not click bait. I just lost the sole scholarship that allows me to stay in college. This situation is shitty, it sucks. For me to go to college next semester, I need to have $11500 in hand. Sadly, I only have $3800, and it is currently all in PLTR. I need to do something big to get up to $11500 and if it is a huge risk, thats ok. If you have an idea of what position I should take, please tell me. I'll take every idea into consideration. I'm looking for short term plays, since I have a month to make ~$7500. Probable. I kind of understood UK's rapid approval but Canada's was unexpected. It sounded like Health Canada were going to take at least another couple weeks before making a decision. You realize they make the software used by the government to detect everything from political ideology of a target individual to large-scale bank fraud right?

And that they are moving into the private sector and will be selling a watered-down version of this software to companies? To give this just one application: they're going to be offering banks, on a subscription basis, the software used by the FBI, NSA, and CIA to detect bank and security fraud, to banks. Every bank that does business in the US will be welded onto PLTRs software, which they will pay a massive amount for, month after month, year after year, if they want to stay competitive and get away with ANYTHING.

>Uranium is shit, we only use it because its easy to use.
No. There are easier fuels to use we just have the most infrastructure and experience (and regulatory momentum) for it. Why did we choose U in the first place when there are a bunch of other options?
Because natural Uranium contains U-235 and U-238. When in a reactor the first one is what is used in nuclear power and if the U-238 fraction is increased (enriched) than you generate Pu-239. Pu-239 is the "raw material" for a nuclear weapon after a bunch of other steps. This is not a coincidence.
There are other fuels that don't create weapons capable isotopes as. byproducts but the technology is trickier. But the advantage is then you don't care about Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc. having nuclear power since they can't produce weapons from the byproducts.

No, Thorium has had this issue for decades. 233Pa is a "necessary evil" of a thorium reactor and sequestering it is difficult. More to the point, it makes maintenance or repairs extremely dangerous and impractical for months are a time.
It isn't that big of a problem for a toy reactor which is where most of the current thorium memes are and likely will be.

>There is also more Thorium than Uranium, so both those facts together and Thorium is infinitely more sustainable than Uranium.
Uranium is responsible for a large percentage of the heating in the core of the earth that creates the dynamo responsible for the earth's magnetic field. The misnomer is what reserves are currently identified. But that is compounded by the bear market for it. It just isn't worth it to explore for new resources. Same as any other commodity.
Thorium is one of the eternal memes in nuclear power. 233Pa is absolutely terrifying and generates enormous amounts of highly penetrating radiation per unit mass. It is simply impossible to perform maintenance or repairs on 233Pa lines or storage tanks that don't require shutting down the entire plant for months at a time. Which is just not practical.
The more interesting next step is modular reactors. Dramatically simplifies the cost and licensing problems with scalability depending on needs. Smaller cities or for cargo ships. They are already on icebreakers.

Uranium's price is not stifled by low demand. Listen, I like nuclear power. I think any country actually serious and not huffing Elon Musk level memes should integrate it into a diversified energy portfolio. Solar and wind will simply not do it alone. Nuclear is great for offloading base load, renewables outside of geothermal, hydro, and tidal better for peak load. But the point is that the supply is simply too low and has been for years for what is CURRENTLY online.
>why are uranium prices so low then?
Japan shut down many of their reactors after Fukushima and so built a large stockpile of uranium that were intended to fuel their fleet. These reserves are sold at well below market prices from energy companies that want to get "rid" of it because stories uranium is costly. It is also why many countries do not HAVE reserves and why the US wants to start one.
The economics are clear and the conditions are very similar to 2008. A prolonged bear market cratered exploration and shut down many current mines. There are no alternatives. Supply is not enough for demand. There are like 9 tickers worth talking about in the ENTIRE world.
But: the numbers are so unclear because countries are so guarded about their uranium resources that it won't be well telegraphed when Japan runs out for what other countries need. Until that happens it WILL track the overall markets. But it will also likely not as be as dramatic as 2008 because many investors remember that rally that created 1000x baggers. LITERALLY. This time itll be more like 5-10x probably. Can't tell you when though

The value of GME doesn't lie with it's ability to sell consoles or AAA games you retard. Its it's customer base and it's position to sell a million different types of niche items to it's fanatic customer base. No one gives a shit if Gamestop sells a few Hatsune Miku Funko Pop to a small customer base that would buy that type of thing, but if a million types of those rare items are being sold to a millions of different types of niche customers, those sales quickly add up. Sales of niche items that Walmart, Best Buy do not have in their inventory. This is only possible through the internet as shelf space does not matter. GME right now has the ability to purchase tons of warehouse space to add along to their existing central distribution centers, allowing for them to have "infinite shelf space".

>but anon I can buy a Hatsune Miku Funko Pop on Amazon right now

Yeah but how fast can you get a replacement if your Amazon™ order was stolen, or even just damaged? Ask yourself how likely are you to expect a Indian when you call in for customer support? Have you heard of the pet store Chewy.com? I'm reading reports of Chewy customers receiving new pet toys NEXT DAY simply from calling in to report their order being damaged in the rain. Guess what, the founder of Chewy is owns 10% of Gamestop and is looking for it to become his next pet project.

basically gme has the ability to hold million fucking weird items that other "big" retailers won't or can't hold. That at least 98% of those items will be sold (98% rule read it up on The Long Tail) because of it's fanatic customer base and it's customer support will beat the largest retailer because the largest retailer isn't specialized in a certain industry

And they are. They've closed 500 stores this year and 800 in the past two years. How is not closing that many stores a serious change. They've raised 500m in cash and another 100m possible through a secondary offering. They're trimming the fat. Why would they need expensive retail space when all it does it limits their inventory to "AAA Hits" in which they have no leverage over? GME can bully tons of small companies into selling their novelty gaming related items to resale up to a 20% margin which they can hold in their gigantic warehouses. The market on that is virtually untapped and it beats selling a PS5, XSEX where they're forced to sell with a 1-2% at most because of Sony/Microsoft contracts and other big retailers
