Go to college or start a business?

I have $17,000, zero debt, living with parents, and a two year degree in underwater basket weaving from a local community college. I'm a 22 year old NEET right now but I'll be attending a big 10 college in January despite not really wanting to.

Should I just fuck it and figure out how the hell I'm going to start a business? Or should I finish college and forever be a wage slave afterwords?

Well, what's the degree at least?

Every wagie can go to college and get a degree. Most degrees are utter trash except engineering ones, but I'm extremely biased here. I think starting your own business is fantastic, I just don't have the mental fortitude to take such a risk. But since you're a NEET, maybe try something small. Here's a bump so you might get others perspectives.

If you dont have a spcific business in mind go to CC again and keep saving and if you still dont transfer to a state school and if you still dont just dont make one.

$17k is nothing my dude. My holiday bonus this year from wageslaving was $30k. You'd need at least six figures to start a business that actually makes money (and isn't a lotto ticket).
Go to school, especially since you already have two years of community college. If you choose to start a business after graduating, great. At least then you'll actually have options.

You’re not going to start a business with that amount of money and no experience or business ideas...
Go to school for finance or computer science. Get really fucking good grades and do projects. You’ll make so much money at your job that you’ll be able to make really impactful investments. This way, when you really know how to start a business, you’ll have a fuckton of money and more experience.

Partially right if we are talking conventional business with a location etc.
You could spend $1k on knowledge, $5k on a used P880 design printer, $4k on website, and rest of your money on supplies and shirts and successfully start a meme-shirt/sock printing business for ~$15k-$20k. You wouldn’t be 7 figure but 6 figure and your own boss and be able to start other sources of income.

Or use the money to buy a used rig. I know a 22 and a 24 year old both making ~10k+ per month being truckers. Large companies will pay top dollar to haul material from east coast to west coast and vice versa. Neither of the two guys I know plan on driving trucks by 30 and are using it as a means to get into real estate. You can do anything with the right amount of fire.
