He does make a point though, your currency will take you further in a third world country. Filipinos speak English, so it shouldn't be too hard to live there as it is very Americanized. Obviously stick to central business districts or where there are expats, you don't want to be blackmailed / kidnapped / robbed etc. Look up 'El Nido' and 'Palawan' for some beautiful beaches. If you can maintain your citizenship do it, fly back home for medical care (even better if it's free and world class). I would like to set up a BPO business eventually over there...
