I think adding a quarterly recommendation list would go a long way to quieting the shilling; if someone asks, you can just point them to the pastebin. Enterprising anons could even go so far as to write explanations as to why the recommended miners are recommended.

Are you thinking about a pastebin for shilling miners or something? Anybody could update it and next thread's OP would be updated with the new pastebin... Not sure whether that would work very well though as that would discourage discussion and speculation I think, though it would reduce people asking to be spoonfed

If there is uncertainty in the bond market, there could be a massive capital flight to quality with metals being a major beneficiary. There are trillions in the bond market, and many companies, states, and individuals are over leveraged and can not possibly be bailed out by the federal reserve. We are approaching a major crossroads where the banks will have to make up their mind with what they want to do.

ah yea this incident, Nevsun Resources has been accused in the past by asylum seekers from Eritrea of using political prisoners and child labor in their construction of several mines in the country. Its hard to know whats true coming out of Africa's hermit kingdom. There are reports of crucifixions and hand amputations by several leading military figures who are supposedly partnered with Nevsun, but the evidence is slim at best. Footage though of a firing squad at a Nevsun mining camp did briefly surface in 2008 but it could not be confirmed if it was government forces doing it or bandits. This case has been in the works for ages and has a lot less merit than other cases to do with canadian miners across the globe.

Look at the top left of that image and imagine what it must have looked like in the context of the peripheral scenery before the mine began. What's pmg's stance on environmentalism when it comes to mining? I guess there are certain places where not many people visit so maybe a beautiful mountain range there could have a mountaintop removal style mine put on it, but even then it's still some sort of loss for the world I think.

that Copper Mountain site was a barron dry mountain ridge before mining began, once the pits exhausted it will look probably better than it started when the remediation work is complete. I am all for being responsible after were done mining, we dont need more terrible eye sours like Tulsequah Chief or Duthie Mine giving our industry a shit name. Note too, I will never recommend any mines that will likely get shit canned due to environmentalists.

The Tulsequah Chief Mine has been a graveyard of junior and corporate mining for 50 years. Since its original shut down in 1955 over two dozen companies have had a go at operating the site and all were driven to bankruptcy. No company can survive the 2 billion dollar clean up cost.

Hey Pan Man or any geology guys, what do you think of Novo's conglomerate mining strategy?

(Here's Don Durret on Novo)

Novo Resources exploded in value based on a potential large discovery in Western Australia (Pilbara region). However, it’s high valuation is still based on a theory. The only resource it has is Beaton’s Creek which is only 1 million oz. The theory is that they can mine a very thin layer near the surface called conglomerate. This has never been done before, and is still unproven.

They have obtained 3 million acres in Western Australia, with nearly all of it in the Pilbara region. They are by far the biggest player in the Pilbara. If you watch their company presentation you will see that this is still an exploration play, and a confusing one at that. We don't have drill results, instead we have bulk samples, and only a few of them so far.

The speculation on what they may have discovered, ranges from over 100 million oz at surface, to uneconomic nuggety geology. What we know is that they have found hundreds of watermelon seed size nuggets on the surface throughout the Pilbara. We also know that they have found more of these nuggets just below the surface. Some of the bulk samples have been impressive, with the grades between 5 gpt and 10 gpt. In fact, some investors are convinced they have a huge discovery. I don't think there is proof yet. It's looking more and more like a low-grade discovery of around 1 gpt.

the stimulus check was only a small part of the money sent to people, unemployment benefits were where the real money was at, I knew people making $700 a week just from unemployment benefits and they were getting this for over 6 months, several of my friends used them to pay off college loans lol.

I work at a bank and we still see big +$9,000 deposits into peoples accounts since you can retroactively apply for the benefits too.

not going to lie thats an incredibly risky project. You would have to do an incredible amount of near surface sampling across the entire deposit to figure out where grades are the most consistent. It probably won’t have as much upside as some of the smaller ones, but there’s also much less downside potential. That being said if we do get a real uranium bull market you’ll probably still make a ton of money with cameco so why get super greedy and speculative with the tiny companies?

100% downside is the maximum amount of downside. You can gamble on penny stocks if you want, but it rarely works out for anyone. Buying large, well-run, companies that can afford to pay dividends is a much better strategy.

thats excellent news, but also read what that first link says. Vangold did a "channel" sample across a long stretch of ore. A channel sample is different than a core sample, its only usually 6 inches from the surface into the rock. There also more susceptible to preferential sampling, where you sample along a length that intersects a visible high grade section of ore. I am sure once Vangold gets an actual drill down there people will be more excited. Channel samples only get people interested when its beyond bonanza grades.

Correct. Deflation is the natural healing mechanism of any economy, and it is obviously being circumvented, not just for the printed money to be spent to further entrench the system, but to keep inflation going just as you say. They give money to who they want, saving them from the fires of inflation, and let the rest burn. It's completely dysgenic and good people are slowly but surely dying out. basically a "chip" sample is the most basic form of sample you can do from a rock outcrop, you usually do a set or series of chips across the face and send them for assay, or do a specific chip sample for a spot separate from the others. You do this if you have a section of rock you think may be different grades than the rest or for a number of other reasons. Its not inherently sketchy unless you only present one sample out of context from the rest like its special. A "channel" sample is done when you find an outcrop and dont have access to a drill, or you want to take a wide surface sample for records / assay. its another step taken towards doing deeper drilling and once again its done as part of the exploration program and is only seen as more sketchy because you can focus more on more interesting targets with it.

Its true Bayhorse used a "chip" sample as an example but they did show the rest of the samples in series as your suppose to, however they only mentioned the high grade nuggety gold sample as a presser, which is scummy. Same goes for Klondike as well. Hopefully this explains a bit.

Channel samples let the geologist take a long section of rock for study and for record keeping, its not as precise as a core sample, and you usually do several on one outcrop. One across the structure being sampled, and two more usually bisecting the structure at a specific angle, sometimes 45% or more.

honestly they actually suck to do, the saws get crazy hot and you need a slave .. i mean field assisant to constantly bring buckets of water to spray at the rock face or the blades overheat. Worst though is the back pack diamond drill. If your doing it with one man its a massive headache, watering and handling the drill is no fun. You usually end up needing 3 people to do anything efficiently and if you have that many guys you end up bringing in a winkey drill instead so these tiny shits are basically pointless.

yes Klondike is a massive lower grade silver / lead / zinc deposit with blobs of incredibly high silver values mixed in. The Sandon area hosted at one time over 50 producing silver mines, between 1894-1954 producing almost 70 million ounces of silver from the big three mines alone. The area is chock full of ore, but thats not Klondikes issue, they got in too late this year for drilling and finding staffers for rehabbing their underground workings. Their mill is permitted but not up to date, though there are mill wrights on site working on it. Klondike suffered like many other projects from a tiny budget and low silver prices so interest in the location was minimal. Now that prices have increased their having issues ramping up due to as stated above.

The fuck is going on frens?
Saxo bank released their top 10 markets predictions for 2021. One of them is just for silver.

>2021 brings the usual suspects that power silver higher on its hard asset/precious metal side as the US dollar weakens, and as investors are faced with the harsh reality of no relief in sight from negative real interest rates. This is exacerbated as inflation suddenly jolts higher in 2021 and policymakers are slow to respond, wanting to offer maximum support for their still-recovering economies. With a Covid-19 vaccine in rapid rollout by the middle of the year, the excessive liquidity and over-easy policy drives a powerful bid into any hard asset.

>Turbocharging the rise in the silver price in 2021, even relative to gold, is the rapidly rising demand for silver in industrial applications. In fact, a real silver supply crunch is on the cards in 2021, and it frustrates the full throttle political support for solar energy investments under a Biden presidency, the European Green Deal, and China’s 2060 carbon neutral goal, among other initiatives.
>Another challenge on the supply side for silver is that more than half of mined silver supply is a by-product of zinc, lead and copper mining, making it tough for miners to meet the surging excess proportional demand for silver.

>Trade: Long silver as the price races to an all-time high of $50 per ounce in 2021.

Good post anon. Yeah it might be that primary silver miners' concentrate might be in high demand in the coming years.
>i wanted to take a position of aurcana, do you guys think i should get in now or hope for a dip before getting in?
Hard to say, the price of silver and aurcana itself might go either way until they get closer to production. They're on track to begin production in Q3 2021 so there's plenty of time to wait for dips at least. However if silver begins climbing steadily and doesn't take any dips like we're used to see it may be that aurcana won't dip either. I say DCA.

This. It's amazing what few billions (literally nothing with the trillions at their disposal) can do to distract an entire demographic of people who would otherwise be interested in gold and silver.
>Bitcoin price pump not dump!
>Bitcoin digital gold not scam!
And of course they pump Bitcoin right when they would be getting out of it and into gold, but instead they file in at the first sign of "one of the herd" starting a stampede on a bull run. That's the only reason Bitcoin is anywhere near 20k. People would be completely fed up with Bitcoin by now without artificial manipulation.

Alright so I found a very detailed explanation on sampling: https://www.911metallurgist.com/blog/mining-geology-sampling-methods-channel-chip-core
but that's just excessive for anybody new to this stuff. I'll probably add it to the pastebin under some "advanced" header or something along with that Ore Deposits 101 video series you recommend.

Found another one that seems to be very easy to understand, sampling methods start from page 9 of the presentation: https://www.slideshare.net/pramodgpramod/sampling-techniques-for-mineral-deposit
What do you think? I think this one would be a good addition to the pastebin, it's very easy to understand and has images to go along with it too!

The second link that I posted is good but lacks information on BOT/soil sampling though... For some reason I haven't found anything easy to understand related to those kinds of samples, we might have to make our own.
Here's some cool info I found on the way though, our friend GTK is at it again, this link provides a lot of info about till sampling although goes into a bit too much detail and the focus is all over the place:
https://www.oulu.fi/sites/default/files/184/13_40_Perti%20Sarala_OMS_Till%20Geochemistry_Oulu%20Mining%20Summit_2017.pdf
And here's a good image on how deep different till sampling methods can go to reach bedrock:
http://platinex.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Till-Sampling-write-up-_2_.pdf

But yeah we'll need to make our own guide when it comes to soil/BOT sampling I think

Alright, now the most important parts of the glossary as judged by yours truly. I hope I categorized these well enough. There's a little bit of overlap with the links I posted about surface sampling but I included everything major for the sake of it. I probably put some unnecessary ones in the list but we can remove things that we deem excessive or not needed for basic learning. Also if I missed something important, we can always add something.

Can't say much about the companies but many of those are in my backlog. As for exposure, you've got exposure both to Au and Ag which is nice. Personally I wouldn't be that much into silver, I'm more of a gold guy when it comes to mining companies. Some base metals exposure would be a nice addition to your folio, base metals production also often produces silver as a byproduct. Your diversification is nice to see although it seems to me that you haven't really considered the value of these companies, you just own 100 of each... Might do you good to consider which of these companies you consider more speculative, which are your safe bets and which you are willing to bet more or less on.

Right now your folio looks a little like an ETF, I say personalize it a little bit.
