X is diversification into minimills like NUE with this Big River acquisition.. however keep in mind they could only pony up money for half up front and there were able to buy the other half with the blessing of the steel shortage going on and Iron Ore prices being through the fucking roof.

The company is not profitable yet. However something of note is CLF became profitable for the first time this quarter.

CLF generated 1.65b in revenue while sitting on a 3b mkt cap

To give you an idea how undervalued CLF is let's look at ZM

I buy them at auction or privately when they're younger, mostly deal in foals, and sell them on at a later date, usually as one year olds or yearlings as we call them. We call it pinhooking in Kentucky. These are thoroughbreds bred for racing. I try picking ones that are correct with decent pedigrees but maybe a bit weak that may get overlooked at the foal auctions and try to get a bit more muscle on them at the farm. They get a bit of vet work and training and minding too. Costs about $12,000 to get them ready for the next sale and I usually go in with 3 other partners on each foal to split costs and lower risk. Purchase price ranges between $15,000 to $50,000 per foal but its auction. Can make a lot of money on them or lose your ass completely because the fuckers get bone issues or don't grow and sometimes you buy one for $30,000 it costs $10,000 to look after and ends up making $5,000 at auction which happened on one this year.
I've made money on them overall fortunately.

Dogs I don't know about but I think there's money to be made babysitting peoples pet dogs when they go on holidays. Easy enough labour wise and the money is good. I have a friend who does that.

I dont consider myself as being or even wanting to be a trader, all the numbers are against you in that game. Sure, some guys get lucky but once theyre lucky they usually, like most gamblers, dont know how or when to stop. I approach everything with a buy and hold mindset. I dont look for exits all of the time, I bought KO and MCD because I thought they were undervalued at the time, especially July when both stocks were hammered hard. I should probably have sold MCD when it went to 231 but I think I might hold it until it goes to 250. Will sell Coke once it makes me 20% and then I will leave that too.
My long term holdings are SQ, I am a huge bull on this stock, especially now seeing how commercial banks are getting completely destroyed left right and center with bad loans, commoditization of their core business and general punishment for decades of bad service.
ENPH is a pure play on solar energy, but I dont want to get into the Panels because to me thats a commodity and I dont want to invest in tighter margins.
ETFs are very boring:
Emerging Markets, World and Lyxor New Emergy (holds like 30 companies that have in some way shape or form connections to Renewables, I am up 35% YoY with that one).
All in all I have modest gains, around 25% YoY, a lot of the downside comes from Coke and McD, which I honestly dislike as companies, but I could not buy ARK Funds so I went with them instead.
