I'm so confident ill be a millionaire by the end of 2021-2022 that I want to quit my wage slave engineer job and move to Russia and various other parts of Europe, living months at a time and learning the local languages, meeting locals etc. I can't tell anymore if I'm mentally ill or everyone else around me is a fucking retard that plans on working everyday until they die. I feel guilty that I'm going to be so fucking rich shortly and I can live like a NEET the rest of my life

The problem is that most people don't realize that it isn't 1980 anymore and you can't just go out and pay cash for a house with a few years of savings from an average salary. They actually think that if they work their asses off for the next 40 years for someone else, that they will be able to afford the lifestyle that their parents had. I think it's just willful ignorance. If you don't have some sort of side hustle these days, you won't make it.

QUIT. You dont know the true value of your life/time.
Fuck engineering. Sure, you may not be able to accumulate a little more but at what cost? Do you have enough to live on for 2 years without touching your holding stack?
If so leave, and live your life so you dont fall behind anymore on what you really want to do.
Most importantly keep God first, and the rest will fall into place.

Not OP but I have 12 of my annual salaries worth of crypto. (I spend around 50-80% of salary every year)
I hate my work but I can't force myself to quit, even when
>I could just move all my crypto to stablecoins and get some passive yield which would grant me around 3x salary in the current defi ecosystem
Thing is, I don't want to live where I am at, so I'm betting on tripling my stack before I quit

It so isn't. Thinking BTC was doomed when it was dropping down towards 3k was retarded, thinking BTC will never drop significantly again is retarded. DCA is for wagies who only want to think about this stuff once a month

>> No.24629810

OK. I do get all of what you are saying. True on a macro level. And you have be rich like Raoul Paul to take massive bets on macro trends.

But on a micro level, my pal which never have coded properly (I know him;) downpaid for a house with low interest, saved every pennies, loved to a high value contract job (Adobe CQ5 crap; Java) using his network skills, almost paid his mortgage within 5 years and recently moved to a Telco job (Telstra in Australia) with tech lead position (he is managing brilliant engineers) planning to retire from there. Everybody is different.

But I can’t think about taking a mortgage, and be bonded with a place/property for long being enslaved by a job.

>The concept of "mental health" in our society is defined largely by the extent to which an individual behaves in accord with the needs of the system and does so without showing signs of stress.
mental illness is a good thing. it only means you can "see" society.

I’m not. But either way, it’s very personal and there is no absolutes. Some strategy / macro is good, but at the end it’s heavily depends on personal circumstances / genetics / inheritance / petsonality. Just because whole world convinced each other that 30-year mortgage is normal and some with get away, that doesn’t mean debt is fucking stressful to everyone and ultimately curtails freedom. There are alternate templates of life, if you peel the next layer - why we need debt ? Do we really need all those BS we fill our live with ? Not in woods, but nearer.

>> No.24631088

We don’t even know what will happen throughout the time we “plan to service the debt”. It’s risk perception and tolerance and it’s heavily influenced by personal situation and genetics
