I'm in a weird place right now with finances and my future. First off, I fucking despise my job. It's easy, it's lucrative, it's a straight 40-hr-week desk job, but it requires me to be attentive and respond quickly to frequent small requests at all hours of the day, even though there is nothing to do 90% of the time. So I am just sort of wasting away at my desk (WFH even) being bored as fuck, but I can't even ghost my job and play video games or go work out or whatever, since it would become apparent to my bosses that I'm MIA. So I get paid well to be psychotically bored all the time.

My crypto finances are $1.5MM on the nose. BTC/ETH/XMR/LINK. I have tax paid on about $1.1MM of that so if I pulled it all out I'd owe like another $100k. $1.4MM is is enough for me to retire to a basic level of lower-middle-class comfort if I reinvested it in indexes and pulled down 4% annually, it'd be about 50-55k/yr after taxes. I'm trying to decide what to do:

1)quit job, reinvest in index funds, live low-risk middle class NEET life forevermore
2)quit job, leave money in crypto, live middle class NEET life and hope the money goes up so I can upgrade my lifestyle in the future, but it might also plummet to 0 at any time and leave me homeless
3)keep wagecucking and wait for crypto to moon before I quit my job

What would you do in this situation. It's important to note that I feel like I'm going to blow my brains out if I keep at this job much longer. I know high-paid low-effort sounds like a dream job but I can't stress enough how I'm not able to just fuck off during the day and do whatever. I'm chained to my desk, even virtually. I'm 32 and desperately want to start NEETing it up.

just what it says. Looking at the cost basis of everything I'm invested in atm, it's $1.1MM. And I've paid tax on all gains realized to date. Mostly long terms rate of 23.8%.

How old are you anon? Do you believe in Chainlink and Sergey? I don't know about Monero, but BTC, ETH and especially LINK might very well go up another 5x in 2021. BTC is nearly at $20k and this time there is almost no hype at all. Everyone in crypto is watching that Bitcoin stock to flow chart. There are hedge funds buying Bitcoin(that ceo boomer that keeps shilling his $200m stack). I would suggest you to hold another year. We've been in a bear market for 3 years(applies mostly to nolinkers). Your holding cryptos that have very big communities and shilling/speculation potential(aside xmr). A 5x is very possible within a year. Having $5m instead of $1.4m is very different. With $5m at 5% you'll get $250k per year. Enough to reinvest and live very well. Then when the time comes I would sell everything except for your LINK stack. Meanwhile if you really dislike your job and can't cope anyway, just find another easier job and set aside like $30k per year. Just don't go full NEET yet or you'll burn through your cash.

I did, until my net worth grew so large that I couldn't afford to anymore. I still have 16k LINK (down from 80k). I don't think I believe in the project anymore, except as another crypto blue chip that's liable to go up a lot in another bullrun.

I agree that I think a new bullrun is upon us so what I'd love to do is quit and just pull down the bare minimum to live off of while keeping the rest in crypto for at least another year. But that's obviously the most risky choice too, since it could all just as well collapse at a moment's notice.

What do you do for work anon and how much does it pay?

It doesn't sound like it's high paying so how did you get to $1.5m. Your field will influence the advice as you could be overperforming or underperforming based on your qualification level.

OP just look for another job, ideally one that's more interesting. Or start your own business. I wouldn't sell right before the golden bull run.

Exactly how chained to your desk are you? Can't you just play vidya and pause it when you need to answer a small request? Or read a book? It sounds perfect to be able to spend the day reading and gaming and then just handle the small shit when it comes up. My job is like that now but I guess I don't need to hop to as fast as you do. As long as email back within a couple hours and turn my work in on time and attend my meetings nobody gives a shit what I do.

You could probably retire. Crypto is in it's bull market now. Your net worth will be climbing at a rapid pace over the next year and a half. Just leave on a good foot so that you have to option of returning to work if need be.

Just quit and move somewhere nice and warm OP. I just turned 33 and also wfh, my job is a bit more interesting then yours but I can understand the feeling of being trapped to your desk. I only have a net worth of 250k in real estate and stocks,
