can you build subscriber base with videos that can't be moetized, then delete them, upload original videos and then monetize the channel?

like - it doesn't matter, there are many ways to do it, my question is can a channel built this way be monetized.

It does matter because why would someone who watched your southpark uploads then watch your shitty masturbation vids?

once again, never mind that, please focus on the question. All i want to know is can it be done. can the channel built on copyrighted content be monetized once the copyrighted content is purged and original content uploaded? that's all..

Yeah dude, no problem. As long as you have enough subscribers and views to start monetizing, you can do with yiur content what you like. Also you have to make sure their ContentID system doesn't trace any copyrighted content in your videos.

>> No.24568081

>>24567993
Oh I forgot to mention. Nowadays there is a bew copyright security system on Youtube. When you apply to monetize your content, your channel will be checked by a human (I assume) once. This person will check if your content is elligible. So don't apply for monetization before you removed all the non-original content. After you got the green light, you can upload anything as long as the ContentID system doesn't find any copyrighted material.

I have a YouTube channel. About 100k total views between my vids and 150 subscribers.

The standards for income are insane now. They won't even let you monetize until you hit 1,000 subscribers.

Then once you do the money is pitiful. You can have millions of views and get a check for like $150 a month. YouTube really cut the pay down to nothing. But there isn't really competition to their platform. They need to be stopped.

No way, for real?

>> No.24569023

>>24568140
You have to monetise your viewers in other ways, hence all the sponsor ships/merch, the golden age is long gone and you actually have to have some business acumen to make good money now but the format is so accessible you can literally go look at any popular youtuber and just emulate what they do to monetise their viewers.
1000 subscribers is nothing if you've got 100k views and only 1 in 100 wanted to subscribe that's not a good ratio for a small channel, only when you're getting big viewer hits from algorithm blessings should you be seeing a ratio like that you need to make sure the content you produce is regular n in a routine and also give them a reason to subscribe. You can cheese the system in many ways but you get cucked in the long run
Either way subscribers don't even matter if you have a million but they don't get recomended your vids then what's the point? Even if they have notifications on and they don't click your vids that's useless. You can try fudge the game but at the end of the day you're goal has to be to get on the algorithms good side and by having a tonne of subscribers that don't click your vids why the fuck do you think the algorithm will deem you worthy of being presented to new viewers when there's someone that doesn't have 200k subs from shitty southpark reuploads but only 1000 of them click the vid and only 10 of them watch till the end and watch the ads. Instead of a guy who only has 2000 subscribers but 2000 click and 1500 watch to the end and watch the ads.

That's not all at you btw just general obvservation for you nerds keep at your channel and it will grow but you need to fine tune your upload schedule and content to get a better ratio if you want money from this and it's not just a hobby.

YouTube really fucked their creators by not pushing an interactive Netflix model for 'ad-free' support of your favorite creators and other shit like the members subscriptions.

Trying to censor the videos with ad support has resulted in channels doing even more shit tactics to try to milk algorithms for higher CPM rates which in turn has only made advertisers see shitty performance on their end and results in smaller budgets allocated.

>> No.24569082

>>24569023
Forgot to add that channel that has a dedicated viewerbase is also better to market your product too because they have a solid profile on what they're interested in so the view's are worth more as a result of that too.

The youtube market is oversaturated. If you want to make media find a better way.

I would suggest finding a gaming niche that isn't really being met on twitch and make content around it. Twitch can be more profitable than youtube if done right.

oh i see, so content-ID is an AI-bot that crawls through your account and if it finds nothing (cause you obviously deleted all the videos) - you get the green light? Am i understanding this correctly? Does the human who green-lights your account care about your upload history since obviously that never gets purged from google's servers..?

Checked. I'm the same anon from a different device.

The ContentID system is automatic and continuous, it;s always searching for copyrighted content in your videos. If it finds something, it revokes the ability to monetize that video and sends the ad revenue of that video to the 'rightful' owner. So it's a system you can bypass if you make sure they don't find any copyrighted content.

The human checking your channel once is a bit more tricky. When you apply for monetization, he will check your channel, including your upload history. So before you apply, you should try to make sure you have atleast some original videos that are elligible for monetization and delete the videos that are not elligible.
I've had my right to monetize videos unjustly revoked before and I also had my right to monetize granted after that. So it can go both ways and really depends on whoever checks your channel. If your application fails you can try again after a few weeks.

t. I have a music channel with 150k subs which was pretty popular at one point. Youtube is a mess in terms of monetization. You have to get a bit lucky sometimes. Also it doesn't earn that much. I get around 150 euros each month for 240k plays.
