I trust this US regulated company more than I trust myself. I'm not an american so I don't care about the IRS aspect. Coinbase has no ties with my government tax authorities.

Also to add to this, there's a nice feeling knowing that someone is responsible for your crypto holdings. Especially since if he ends up losing my linkies, I'll pay him a visit... in minecraft ;)

I've heard rumors that these fucks are going to start enforcing KYC on personal wallets soon. The "anonymous" aspect would be completely nulled at this point.

They're hacked daily. They don't want you to know.

If you didn't know, there's a bunch of tools on exploit. There's vendors that specifically sell Withdrawal exploits to bypass any email password needed and there's special tools like Modlishka to bypass 2FA.

their api keys were leaked back in 2012 or so, they used to requiere api key access toggled on for their mobile app to work and a lot of people had their wallets drained. they paid back most and swept it under the rug.

The whole point of crypto is to hold your own shit

>> No.24497934

Not trusting exchanges is a vestige of the MtGox, Crypsty, and early Bitfinex days where shit was getting hacked and exit scamming left and right. It's also spouted by the schizo ultra-libertarians that are paranoid of the government coming to steal their measly coins.

Coinbase is 100% safe for storing coins. In fact you're more likely to lose your coins fucking around with some hardware wallet and seed phrase.
