then I fucking started making actual money and realized the time I spent thinking about this bullshit while sadly depriving myself of a little espresso, I could instead put into making so much that it would literally not matter.

I can tell you a little secret, take it as life experience from someone who grew up and knows a few successful people: Living frugal is a meme. You'll become greedy, stingy. You'll think about money while others show charisma and generosity. The sad thing for you will be seeing these people overtake you by all means, above all financially. Ffs it's not about saving to the fullest, money is to be earned. You do this by connecting with people. This doesn't mean you consume senselessly. But you need to learn that displaying status is part of life. Jobless guys in the world economic crisis in the thirties saved up their last pennies for a good suit. It brought them dignity and status and finally a job. People understand you worthy yourself despite if hardship. The frugal is turning this upside down. You lose any status by being stingy. The shortterm cashflow savings will not match your longterm loss. And by the way, being frugal isn't even fun.
