What exactly have changed for ETH today? Is it faster or cheaper to use now?
I only saw that Beacon Chain is operational, but for what purpose? Are they gonna use it to validate current blockchain any time soon? Or is it brand new (and dysfunctional for now) blockchain that requires 32 ETH for a validator node? Let's say I own a validator node today. What this node does right now, given that accounts and contracts aren't operational for ETH2 yet?
