I still regard myself as being poor, since I did grow up working class. My parents argued and struggled a lot with finances. I had to do whatever it took, worked my arse off starting at 16, detached myself from consumerism. Although there are times in which I feel like I'm wasting my teenage years, I continue to remind myself of the long-term externalities of delayed gratification.

My cousin showed me this website when I was in middle school and I eventually started hearing about bitcoin on here. I didn't think much of it until I got a little older and ETH came out. I actually bought $50 worth of ETH back when it released but sold it a day after because I was scared of losing my money lmao. I've worked numerous jobs from 16 years old onwards and about a year ago I started to put my entire paycheck after bills were paid into crypto. It has paid off handsomely so far.

I own:

>1.3 Bitcoin
>9.5 Ethereum
>750 Chainlink
>1,025 XRP
>500 XLM

I'm just waiting for bitcoin to break ATH to sell all of it or enough to claim profit. Then I'm hoping the altcoins will pump too and I might sell all of those too. Then I'll buy back in when it goes down again. I just need to figure out the process of selling my bitcoin from my Cobo Vault and how much money I'm going to put back in once the market goes back down.

Yes, I think that was me from about 15 to 21. At 21 I started focusing on my music exclusively, then had some success in music which fizzled out by 28. I got a job that within a few years was paying me six figures but until my 30’s I was broke all the time and wasn’t event thinking about making money. At 36 I have a net worth of around $1MM thanks almost wholly to crypto, but if I had been on this path since my early 20’s I would have retired 5-10 years ago. I just was curious as to the mind of a younger person who is actually concerned with putting cash in their pockets because that definitely wasn’t me.

very similar story myself, I think have parents who visably fuck up or argue about finances give the youngest of us a kick start to reaility.

Kids understand alot more about whats going on than I think the parents think. For me, my parents debts and seeming obcession with bitching and complaining about money had a astounding impact.

Heard about bitcoin when I was 12 by browsing a bunch of tech forums here and there. I wholly believed in its potential and I worked side jobs and saved like a jew so I could buy it. I tried to talk my parents into buying it for me with my own money but they didn't believe in the tech.

Fuming pissed when it hit $20k. Read up as much as I could and practiced swing trading on some sims and I hit the ground running as soon as I hit 18. My portfolio hit $90k at one point but then I went too crazy with it. Learned a lot about risk management there. Steady profits > yolo bets.

If you are working for yourself, the time spent is more justifiable, and it's much more natural in your brain (like hunting, for yourself, not the jew)

90% of the western population seems to think spending 2/3 of your healthy life waging doing menial pointless tasks is "life".

Dab on them, my brother recently signed a contract committing him to 4 years of guaranteed weekend work for his company on minimum wage. They bend and take it, he says he is lucky to have a job. Its not a pretty sight.

ESCAPE WHILST YOU CAN

that's pretty unfortunate.
It's really sad how I look around and find that having a stable, loving family is sort of becoming a rare thing. Regardless, if you want to put more money away maybe consider a profitable side gig you have interest in. Making your own money can be pretty satisfying too.

That is unfortunate, I don't know what advice to give because I have not been in that situation.

I guess just save what you can.

Although this notion of broken homes is becoming more and more common in the western world and is leading to more and more zoomers becoming forcibly enslaved.

Knew about link pre-sibos in 2017.
Had a fuckton, sold because I got shilled someother scam coin that my buddy lied about. Also, had some very convincing arguments against link. I was down to $15k portfolio last year. Worked my way back up this past year (without the help of link). It sucks desu.

Alot of things, you could write a book about it. But Government being heavily involved in marriage legally/financially, the government paying child support/benefits to simply having children (and even more to singles) all contributes to single parents increasing.

Our own generation now of zoomers are having alarming rates of babies out of wedlock, or hell whilst actually being single cause fuck the Dad from day 0. Why? I don't know, I'm sure a schizo knows better (unironically)

22, been browsing the 'chan since 14. Friend of mine graduated a year before me and first thing he did was start learning to invest so I started looking into it, discovered there was a biz board. Worked all throughout college so scrapped together 1k over the course of 7months and threw it at link @2 an that's since made me enough to take investing seriously.

got girls in high school and undergrad. Ever since i got /fit/ and /lit/ I feel more alone in the company of normies than i do in solitude.

Live at home/ don't drink (excessively) or smoke.

I had more money than my parents at 18 due to my business, which actually made things uncomfortable. After that I just hide my actual wealth and continue to do so after this...

Avoid borrowing family money unless completely unavoidable. Don't say no, just make up an excuse as to why you can't or that you're poor too. that's advice to evreyone from XP.

Mid 90s so more like stuck between Zoomers and Millenials

This is the age range where each year feels much quicker than the last as each year is technically a smaller % of your lifetime - time is very fucking valuable.

Focus on a balancing act of increasing your income - there are many approaches. Some go balls deep in a career path, others balance entrepreneurship and side hustles. The more you hone in on something the easier it can be to compound income growth - but a little diversification is bliss when you need it most (being all eggs in one basket, or chained to something means that 'thing' always has leverage over you)

Constantly think of yourself and your assets vs liabilities - think just beyond enough of financials but also your overall health and environment. If your foundation is strong you set yourself up to take advantage of 'lucky' opportunities that are your pipe dreams into hitting oil.

Finally, be very fucking cautious when you spend more money on a depreciating asset. Be creative and enduring in finding ways to stretch a dollar or how to get more from your dollar when exchanging it for goods.

buy shares and learn how options work in a paper account for at least a year before you really get deep into that.

I didn't go to uni and instead got into the trades. As an electrical apprentice I got a 20k bank loan (Stable 3 year job ahead of me). Surprised that I even got it. I lived on my own since 18 because my Dad moved away to be with his family, I made money on the side while being an apprentice as a high school/first year electrical engineering math tutor. I've put about 50k AUD into link. Never sold a single one.
