Welcome to XMR General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading privacy-coin!
Because Monero is secure, low-fee, and borderless, people can easily send money despite corrupt and broken governments or banks. This provides economic empowerment of individuals in oppressive countries or depressed economies.
Private financial history protects consumers and companies from price manipulation, supply chain exploitation, economic discrimination, or the like. Monero is the only cryptocurrency that has the features to serve as completely fungible, decentralized, electronic cash.
If you're new, feel free to ask any questions you like and a Monero Chad will be with you shortly.

Monero has been one of the steadiest gaining cryptos of this year based on USD value. It's biggest pump happened when nothing else was pumping (end of summer), and during the recent Bitcoin ratio bleed it has held it's USD value. If you are looking for a shitcoin pump and dump, look elsewhere. But if you are looking with a long with maybe the strongest fundamentals in crypto, then you hold at least a hedge in Monero.
Also we are pretty clearly still in an accumulation phase. All signs point to Monero correcting very nicely against Bitcoin.

I invested in Q1 this year, 100% monero, been holding steadily since.
initial value was 1.2 BTC
gained 45% in fiat value since, but it's now worth 0.83 BTC

why would you be complaining if the ratio is likely going to appreciate? We've held the 0.006 level for quite a while now, and we have held it through the ratio bleed.
This is genuinely a good time to accumulate, especially if you believe that we are on the cusp of a bull run, because 0.006 is likely the bottom for the ratio and it's only up from here.
>>24427938
get monero has a lot of different merchants that accept monero, or you can use xmr.to if you want to send Monero but the person only accepts Bitcoin

>> No.24428706

>>24428090
we really haven't sunk that low though. Bitcoin indeed has gained more relatively, which isn't all that surprising in the short term, but Monero has still shown real decent gains, especially from the lows of March. Now if we fall under 0.006 that would be potentially bad but I don't really see it happening as it's been held for pretty long as the bottom.
Monero's ratio will eventually correct however, and when it does we will retest highs of 0.03. You should swap some of your stack for Bitcoin if you want to hedge against it the next time we go above 0.01.

0.0066 clearly isn't a high resistance point though, we've breached it lots of times recently, just today we had 0.0064 even

>> No.24429063

>>24428825
I said 0.006 was the resistance.
And if you look at our BTC ratio history, the last time we skyrocketed was during the bull run. Monero is going to be used more than ever to stash profits, and there are a lot of strong hands holding.
I personally think we have a decent chance at 0.1.

We've held 0.006 for 3 years. I don't see it going below that unless Bitcoin skyrockets.
My guess is that this is more or less the top and we test Bitcoins 20 week or Bitcoin continues to rise and touches 25k thereby sucking Monero's ratio even more, but any drop below 0.006 will be very short lived.
>>24429188
Feeling discouraged is normal. Monero is the most obvious long in crypto right now but we are dealing with an irrational market and price suppression from bots/whales.
