You don't have to word it exactly like that but it's unironically good advice. You could also just ask them out on a date.
If you want to take it slow and make things progress "naturally" it can take MONTHS before anything happens IF she's even interested in you (and doesn't lose interest/ find someone else during that time). If women reject you then you can cut your losses/ time wasted and move on.

Also, not being afraid of getting rejected is like a super power. I used to be super afraid of getting rejected, but I've learned to just brush it off and move on to the next one.
