While we're waiting for Richard, there's something I need to get off my chest.
I fell for the BRAP memes and sniffed a girls butthole about a month ago and it smelled so terrible I think I'm gay now.
Help.
I guess I didn't expect it to be so soul-crushingly abhorrent. In the days afterwards it was all I could think about when talking to her, and I ended up distancing myself as fast as possible and I'm pretty sure she knows why. I honestly haven't had any interest in her or any other women since it happened.
I feel like a meme killed my sex drive and I don't know what to do.

An additional function was added to not only withdraw tokens to the Lition validator nodes, but to any address, and named ‘extractLitSentByMistake’. Its purpose was to return Lition tokens that were mistakenly sent directly to one of the staking smart contract addresses. The function allowed a number of community members to recover their funds after making this error.

Regarding the usage, we have thoroughly analyzed all uses of the function. Next to a number of community members that were able to recover funds accidentally sent directly to the contract address, the function was also used for OTC deals by the former Lition core team prior to acquisition by TomoChain.

Lition sought additional liquidity in January 2020 to take advantage of a multitude of business development opportunities. The additional liquidity was necessary in order to ensure that the company could fully pursue each opportunity, to the fullest, without exceeding the reserved operating budget from ICO funding and regular income. Therefore, a small raise was conducted with OTC investors that showed faith in Lition during a down time for the company.

The OTC deals were established with different lockup periods - ending during the months of August through October. When the time arrived, the payouts were made through the ‘_extractLitSentByMistake’ function. The sole aim was to transfer company tokens from Lition to Investors with a lockup period, and this offered an efficient way to carry out this task without any additional development efforts.

We understand that the use of the function might cause some confusion since its name does not match subsequent usage, however, ‘extractLitSentByMistake’ is a standard smart contract function that can be used to move tokens for any number of reasons. Since the contract is immutable once deployed, the name could not be changed once the use for the function expanded.

It’s going to pump today

It does not give the contract owner any additional capabilities that aren’t already available. In the very unlikely event that an attacker bypassed a number of security measures to gain access to the Lition master private keys, tokens could still theoretically be moved to any address through ‘_transferLITToVestingAccount’. Until the platform evolves, and everything is 100% defined, permanent and decentralized, the smart contract's owner will always have some power over the movement of tokens. As with every smart contract with an owner, some trust is required that the private keys are kept secure.

We understand that this has been a trying time for everyone in our community. Please rest assured that TomoChain, with support from the original Lition team, are working very hard behind the scenes to carry out the vision of this new global blockchain entity. The transition may be slower than many had hoped, but we’re confident that, in due time, the new unified structure will lead to growth and opportunities that no one would have believed possible otherwise.

We look forward to the journey that lies ahead and sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support.

FAQS

Why do you need the function?

The LPS Ecosystem eventually aims to be fully decentralized once every piece is working smoothly. Until we reach that point, the role of functions are changing dynamically over time. E.g.: Staking pools were redesigned due to Ethereum limitations that led to unpayable fees for the staking functions. Therefore, it is important, and normal, to have this control over smart contracts when a project is in the early stages of development.

Which funds were used to cover the deals?

Lition ecosystem tokens were used for the deals. They were transferred to LPS in July prior to the payouts. See the transaction below:

https://etherscan.io/tx/0xa8e84945d2ed5bc95b0fd54402a020c328b2c4eafbfc6d09b38f8632f9475030

Why didn’t Richard know about this?

Richard was aware of the OTC deal from January, but not how it was eventually executed after the lockups expired. Richard was however aware that the function was used to reimburse community members that sent tokens directly to the smart contract address by mistake, which he then also communicated. These were the special circumstances he referred to.

Will the function be removed?

Despite the fact that the ‘extractLitSentByMistake’ function adds no additional security risks, and would remain useful to rebalance the ecosystem during the development stages, the function is not critical to the daily operation of the LPS. The long term goal is to fully integrate and automatise LPS with the sidechains and slowly remove the support wheels that are in place during development as we transition towards a fully decentralized ecosystem. The TomoChain team is therefore discussing the matter of how to best address this topic and will inform the community of the final decision once it is made.
