that won't be your house because its in switzerland and they don't allow foreigners to simply come there to buy houses/land. only citizens can buy land, and even then it's difficult. you wouldn't be able to buy that "house"(it's probably now a hotel/tourist attraction), even if you had millions.

d) Nobody actually wants to live in this area of Switzerland. Houses in Appenzell (the region where this photo was taken) are dirt cheap because people want to live in the cities, like everywhere else

This is the real madeit pill. Everyone posts these glamorous houses made up perfectly with inspired interior decoration. If you actually owned any of these places you wouldn't keep it up, the inside would look like shit, and even if you did you'd get bored of it within a month.

If you actually want to live in photogenic nice flats and cabins, and if you've actually /madeit/, then just rent out various high end airbnbs for a month at a time. Once you get the ball rolling on reservations you can just keep it going by reserving a new place 3 or 4 months out, every month. If you find a place you really fall in love with, fuck it, just reserve it for a year or contact the superhost and ask them if you can lease it out traditionally.

Also seeing the same people at the same places every day when you are a teen gets really boring. i would love to be there when im like 40 with kids, but i wouldnt want to let that mindset get to me. i ve seen people that have lived their whole lives back at my hometown.. also i like traveling a lot. i dont wanna kick the bucket having done nothing. you say stupid things about consooming because you probably live in a big city your whole life and have a wrong idea about how living in small towns is and want that " comfy" home like the pic. Besides most of the people in this board are neets that dont leave their house that much and just want a secluded nest.

well for starters i had other skills than farming. i help my father as much as i can but i would never want to work full time with my father. very good person. i am just against mixing family and money/work. there is way less tension this way. again you think farming is that thing you see in tv where everyone is jolly and money just flow by the thousands and everyone sits around the fire happy. my parents pushed me and helped me a lot to study and try to do my thing. you are biased. and my phrasing may have not been the best because im not a native speaker. and lol im not a degenerate, i just wanted to live alone too i guess. i was just a kid with ambitions. whatever you ay you cant really feel how it is. every choice i made helped me immensely, i have way more independence than i would have there and i learned how to take care of myself. my brother still stays there and my mother does everything for him, even though he has a job and make enough money.

I'd buy a cottage on ideally a 1000 acre farm in the region of England that I live. Think something like pic related. If I couldn't find an adequate one i'd build in that style, with stone walls and a slate roof.

Cellar: 40sqm. Use as a utility/boiler room, home gym and an area for a wine collection.
Ground floor: 90sqm. A front room, a spacious living room, and a dining room. Each of the rooms would have a proper fireplace. I expect it would take up 65sqm. I'd then build an extension to install a WC and the kitchen in a remaining 25sqm. I'd also have a garden room/conservatory installed that i'd expect would take up approximately 20sqm.
First floor: 90sqm. A large bathroom/wetroom built over the kitchen extension at approx 25sqm. A master bedroom with an en suite and a walk in wardrobe, total floor space of 35sqm. A guest room at approximately 30sqm (with the option of putting in a dividing wall to create it into 2 childrens bedrooms). Cast iron spiral staircase to attic.
Attic: A spacious 2 room attic. One room primarily used for storage, and another as a comfy smoking room; but also available to renovate into children's bedrooms.
I'd keep the interior design fairly neutral and traditional. Oil based paint. Tiled kitchen and bathrooms. Axminster carpets.

Garage: A seperate building i'd have built to compliment my cottage. Approximately 40 sqm. Use for cars. It would be a large double garage with two storeys. On the second storey would be a self enclosed flat, one bedroom, one bath, a lounge and kitchen.

Shed/Workshop: 80sqm. A large shelter, half open on one side to keep farm vehicles and store hay/feed. An enclosed and fully equipped workshop in the other half, including a washroom and a 2nd mezzanine storey with a home office.

I expect i'll need £20m for the project. If I don't ever get access to that sort of money then scale everything down. 1 acre. Smaller cottage. Regular garage. etc. Could be done for £500k-1m.

Comfy. Only problem with A frames is they're suffocatingly small unless you build really big. The slanted walls take away so much usable space. I almost bought an A a few months ago, the listed sqftage was 700 but subtracting out all the space you couldn't use due to the walls, it was probably closer to 450.

I plan on building a MCM custom home in Punta del Este when I cash out on my 30k LINK. I don't want anything too big so I don't need maids, maintenance, landscapers, etc. but I want it big enough where there's 4 beds, 5 baths, a full basement with a state of the art home gym, spa, and full replica of an English pub so I can watch footy the way it's intended to be watched when not in the stadium. Additionally, I want a pool, parilla, space for my bulldogs to run around, a garage big enough to house 3 cars and multiple motorcycles, and surrounded by a favela proof wall that would bring a tear to Trump's eye.

Switzerland does allow those either. They have a nationalist party as the majority of the electorate and since its a direct democracy they vote for every decision. A bit ago there was a decision the people had to make if minarets should be allowed in Switzerland on mosques. The German, Italian, and Romansh part of Switzerland almost universally voted no they shouldn’t be allowed, some major areas over 90%, even the cities like Zurich. But the French part voted yes they should be allowed to build. So, in short it kind of shows you how gay the French are

Aluminum boat built in the NL. I like the ones with the tiller. There is one for sale now like that. And 14.97m long, so one inch shy of bureaucracy. Cozy interior, and set to sail the icy parts of the world. Svalbard, Patagonia, Iceland, Greenland, Norway, Faroe islands. Eventhough its her sister ship, I chose this pic because its in svalbard.

A super secure bunker house. Double layer of brick walls, titanium doors with airlock and the most secure lock system available. Tiny, bulletproof windows that people can't get through and a nuclear bunker in the basement with all the valuables and documents inside.
I'm slightly paranoid about some dumb nigger breaking in and stealing all my valuables and sentimental value items so I couldn't have a normal house anymore. It will also have solar panels on the top. I think it could even look pretty modern and nice if done right.

I want to try and find a good balance between security and luxury. I think an old-style farm house with an enclosed courtyard is nice. Thick perimeter walls, preferably on a hill, and good sturdy gates/doors should keep most people out while also having open space and elegance. All the out buildings around the courtyard can be used for storage, workshop and garage with solar and rainwater collectors on the roofs.

As for the land, I would like it to be on a hill, I would own the whole hill, I would like a stream on one at least side of the property. The house will be SSE facing on the south side of the hill. I will have a lovely little one acre flat garden to the west of the house, with a greenhouse, patio and jacuzzi. I will split the rest of the land up into pasture, orchard, forest, etc that I can rent out to local farmers for a bit of income and tax credits.
