Create an LTO wallet and you can send your ERC-20 LTO there and use the bridge to switch to mainnet. ERC-20 is 1 to 1 with mainnet.

Yes, you can either run your own node or if you have a smaller stack you can lease to a community node. Leasing does not give them control over your coins just the ability to generate with them and can be cancelled at anytime. Each node has different payout times and fees.
