What are you making for Thanksgiving dinner anons? I'm making roast chicken, cornbread/sausage/fennel stuffing, coleslaw, and I just finished my pumpkin pie earlier this morning.
I did a big turkey last year (w/ mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce) so I'm trying some new things this year. Most of my family is on the opposite coast so I've spent the past few Thanksgivings alone, but it's nice to try new things and create your own little traditions.

you dont just create your own traditions...anon that is a habit. Nothing wrong with that, just need to be as specific as Possible.

As it stands Thanksgiving has been arbitraily decided to be on the 4th thursday of every November. But historically it was celebrated on or closer to Michealmas which in Bongland in the 1600's (which is where alot of the founding stock came from by the way) is when landlords collected tax. It is on September 29, it is just a harvest festival honestly, historically celebrated with alot of aalcohol and eating geese and pidgeons, making meat pies.
The puritans didnt drink high proof beer, so probally werent getting drunk. They essentially just invited over their neighbors the Indians and got them all sick. 90% of the injuns died within 20 years of the first thanksgiving. They ate the local fowl which in the New England turned out to be pheasant, later called turkeys because in general Bongs are retarded. So I guess at one point American pheasants were traded with the ottoman empire. They breed them for themselves and then started trading them back to the anglophone world, so everyone started calling them turkeys.
Generally my family starts the day by drinking mimosas, and slowly moves on to overcooked turkey, with horribly made homemade cranberry suace. I have never liked this holiday!
At least we get to celebrate the domination of lesser peoples and how relevant today considereing we need to all wear masks in public so we dont spread diesease to other people. kek
