With real stocks no

That's what they call the the MBTI personality model as well but there are pattern categories which seem still useful to have even if far away from any scientific approach.
Useful because personality types have a lot of predictability attached to them that is if you express a trait x and ask questions in a specific manner then you're more likely to have traits y and z than if you wouldn't express a trait x and ask questions in this particular manner.
Is this true for stock markets as well but not for crypto because of the volatility?

TA can't possibly work, and if it does, it only does because the majority uses TA. For every gain you make, someone has to make losses. If everyone follows TA, then everyone would be able to make gains, but that's just impossible.

It worked well in 2017 and in the first few months of the bear market, because that's when the dumb money is abundant and they make easy mistakes you can capture with basic TA. But once retail gets wiped out it becomes a game of traders vs traders, then traders vs quants which is where we are now. This happens every cycle, people gave up on TA and trading in 2016, when they really should have started preparing.

Basically, take it less seriously when every market participant is posting about esoteric shit like bearish divergences, and more seriously when market participants don't even know what a moving average is.

You can do both. Right now I just hold and don't bother with charts or TA, and I'll never sell. But a year from now I'll have a dedicated stack of money specifically for fleecing noobs with. It's easy money.
