Checked.

Over the past year we've made bets on about five derivative exchanges, both centralized and decentralized. The derivatives markets aren't very competitive and there's a lot of opportunity for semi-sophisticated traders to make a lot.

The single best advice I can give to anyone coming into 2021 is to learn how to trade these markets. You'd be surprised how few funds make up the majority of volume. If you find a new exchange coming up that has the right backers, get in early. There's plenty of room for a Robinhood style crypto exchange.

Specifically, we're long Globe, Hegic, and Serum.

We hold no XRP positions. If we did take a position right now, it would most likely be short.

Ripple is making hires at the moment to try and build out a stronger ecosystem for XRP. They recognize the way thnigs currently are won't be enough to sustain the market cap they need if they're going to IPO.

They could be successful at this and I wish them luck. I'm not personally convinced.

I apologize. I'm trying to keep up while still giving thoughtful responses.

Anyway, switching gears away from exchanges, DeFi has been a huge theme in 2020 and we don't believe it's going away any time soon. I don't think today's crash should scare anyone away from trying to find value.

Many of the top DeFi projects are sufficiently battle tested and with professional teams that conservatives funds are now willing to allocate substantial capital to them.

Since a few people have already asked, if DeFi as we know it remains relevant in 2021, expect to see indexes grow in popularity. DeFiPulse launched DPI which currently holds $30 million in assets. I believe our fund represents a small portion of that, although it didn't interest me that much. I'm waiting to see how they progress in the next few months.

There's talk that the recent mergers between Yearn, Pickle and Cream will lead to an "index" of those to make things less confusing for retail.

PowerPool is the only other index of note. Most fund managers I spoke with have beta or gamma allocations and have been involved in designing their Power Index with Delphi Digital. Based on the soft commitments I've heard talked about, I'm pretty long on PIPT (the index token) due to its composition and higher growth potential.

Ultimately though, whichever index takes full advantage of liquidity mining will win. The potential returns are too great to ignore. It's like using your S&P 500 ETF to earn an additional yield on top. It's a fund's wet dream.

Unless I'm missing something, there are better, less risky opportunities out there.

>>24294286
Index funds are generally represented by an exchange traded token. The examples I used above were DPI for DeFiPulse Index and PIPT for the PowerPool Index.

If you wanted exposure to the index, instead of buying all of the index's underlying assets individually, you could make a purchase for the index token.

The value of the index token will almost always be close to the value of the underlying assets since there's a natural incentive for differences to be arbitraged away.

Look for index tokens that also let you do liquidity mining. That's one of their biggest advantages.

I'm a big fan of FTX. SBF is an incredibly hard working CEO, a true genius and a super interesting guy if you get to learn more about his personal philosophies.

FTX might still lag behind some of the other exchanges but the sheer variety of products they offer and speed at which they get them out makes me confident they'll get to number 1 pretty soon. I want to see them take over options from Deribit.

Trump tokens are a good example, yes. Trading those on election day netted some nice risk adjusted returns if you got the timing right. Betting markets aren't nearly as precise or informed as people would have you think.

What I also like about FTX is their liquidation engine. I like to trade with subaccounts there instead of stop losses, since their mark price is updated every 10s or so, it gradually closes your position.

I just use that as a stop loss nowadays to avoid getting wicked out. Been working pretty good so far

Melanated OP friend, idk if i get a dub, but can you please help newfags? I have few newfag questions:

1)Assuming i want to learn how to make money in crypto: do i need to learn TA, does it work for crypto?

2)I'm crazy or 99% of "tokens" don't have a purpose? For me it seems they fill they site and whitepaper with buzzwords for the purposes of looking good to normie investors, in reality they do not do anything and just pure speculation tool? Or i'm incorrect?

3)How do i spot "obvious" scams? I see some literallywho coins get shilled by coordinated effort on this board for example, this is suspicious already, but generally how do i evaluate if i'm looking at a scam or real project? (inb4 some one say DYOR - it leads to pt.2 where whitepaper and site filled with bunch of buzzwords that basically say "there are 10 of other tokens and we somehow gona integrate with them" those 10 tokens also don't have a purpose.
