I looked into it. $10 is implied but not necessarily the bottom as one of my personal picks after some research is really like $7.5 due to....idk why but stuff can happen that makesit so its not really $10. Dumped it cause the risk is far too high considering that even though the company is promising and could have large upside potential they suck at presenting themselves. My 18k usd deposit finally cleared. Gonna sell some cash covered puts today.
It took me about a freaking month to get it into my brokerage account. Used an online payment service i had used many times at first, turns out Interactive no longer accepts them, had to wait 2 weeks to get my cash back from the correspondent bank.
Then almost a week until the payment service finally figured out the "unusual volume activity" on my account wasn't money laundering but the same transfer going back and forth. Then transfer to my regular bank. And this included 2 currency exchanges because im nit American and ofc i got fucked by the exchange rate on both. All that because i wanted to save 50$ on transfer fees. Being cheap sometimes is very expensive.

There are a few good ones but the FTSE 100 is underperforming severely compared to other countries stockmarkets. Yeah its just there are some pretty solid bets on alot of these exchanges. Especially in the financial sector, and some in materials/energy. Just super hard to access. That's kind of the point. Alot of these small banks are actually pretty solid. Some are completely fucked. We used to have them in the US until we decided that black people were more important than giving your neighbors kid a loan that the community could bennafit from. CEE is a closed end fund. I would buy Russia etf. ERUS I think its called. The issue is I really want central Europe minus turkey plus Baltic. CEE is mostly Russia and Poland. Everything is overvalued and eastern europe is undervalued as a whole. I got interested in forign stocks given the state of affairs in the US. I also work in Croatia for 4 months a year and spend about 1 month a year in norway. I'm aware of the corruption, but some of these companies that are listed are really good. Even if they are shit, they are priced like they will be gone tomorrow. I'm mostly interested in some banks in Scandinavia, and some other companies here and there in the Baltic/nordic. But eastern European stocks is like free RN. And there is less corruption than other "developing nations" and much more promising human capital lets say. There is definitely a lot to be had to say the least. I could go into more detail but we might have to make a CEE thread.

They also tend to pay hefty dividends, like ERUS's 10%. They can't get squeezed down any more baring a total trade embargo on these countries. Trading212 is the platform I use (I use their Stocks and Shares ISA). The app is pretty good but they're still growing and experience slowdowns occasionally. They also respond quickly on their forum to issues and if you want to request stocks to be available on their platform. Overall I would recommend for buying and holding.

Honestly I'm not even sure, it should be because the UK has barely had any real recovery since March and there are very little if any sign of good prospects in UK markets. The last four years has been consistent and unending instability politically and economically and it shows.
But then again it could still probably fuck the market anyway.
I have almost no hope in UK actual prosperity so I have no hope in UK markets and don't invest. There are potentially some growth sectors but to be honest the country sucks at engineering and technology and the US is far more attractive for those anyway.
There's a dude here who goes on about Rolls-Royce but they're heavily exposed to aerospace industry and imo carry risk because they're dodgy and fraudulent as fuck and there could easily be more bad stories.

As a general rule certain developing nations do better in recessions for a number of reasons. Basically shit is cheaper, and if the EU does something positive with fiscal policy they will see the most proportional benafit. The EU is also less likely to impose regulations on them.. They also have enough chutzpah to tell the regulators to fuck off when need be. I would rather live in Central Europe than Germany during a recession provided i could keep a job... France and Switzerland look like they are about to be finally introduced to their recent imports. Poland will do well in particular, although there is a legal battle going on now. Germany is going to want cheap energy from russia.. the list goes on. Its not a perfect play, I just can't find a better one.
