I am calling upon /biz/'s almighty financial wisdom to discuss strategies to purchasing a vehicle.

So here's the deal
>dad's nearing retirement soon (x < 1 year)
>parents not financially gifted mentally. Would describe as financially unfit
>has been leasing a $55k vehicle for past 3 years
>now decides he wants to buy
>mfw parents say they put $23k into the vehicle already

Share your opinion on the situation at hand. Can you relate?

Tell them to but a used ferrari and then you can crash it after a night drinking with the boys and failing to get girls at your shitty dive bar

i can relate somewhat with financially unfit father but

>lease, if you constantly change vehicles every couple years, maybe even months.
>buy, if youre looking to keep the car for years id say more than 5 years

Thanks for the actual input that's good advice

Actually leasing a used ferrari isnt a bad idea if you own a business and you can deduct it using pre tax income. When you lease a car you’re really just paying for the depreciation and a small premium. If you lease a classic/exotic car its actually surprisingly cheap. Beyond that, if the car appreciates in value you get to keep the money.

Dont do it OP. Tell them to buy a used Toyota camry or Honda. Also tell them to take that money and to put in all in Btc/Eth/Link.

leasing is the only logical option unless you have too much money to begin with
i‘ve been leasing cars for years
have nothing to do with anything
maintenance covered
merely pay for loss of value
drive car for three years and get a new one before expensive repairs kick in
>mfw you’re not leasing but buying

Stealing a car is for niggers. Buying a new car is literally throwing away 20% of your investment as you drive it off the lot

Don't buy a vehicle ffs

It only makes sense if you plan on keeping it running for 15+ years
>f150
>Toyota
That's it basically
