people google gamestop stock and this is what they will see
you have only yourself to blame for FOMOing in when it was overbought, but the current performance on GME is pretty good now with that nice uptrend. It just seems so awful when everything else like PLTR and CRSR are mooning, but be honest, would you have put money in those over GME? The short-term downside risk is actually pretty low on GME now that institution buying (13F's) has made $10 the new floor. The only concern is that it might keep crabbing slowly

Heck lol MYDA has Gamestop as their largest holding in shares and they jumped in at $10

I'm starting to think that shit stocks that aren't going up are undervalued and good stocks that rise high are "overvalued". How it is valued is perhaps a good proxy for how shit a stock is, the better the pick, the more overvalued it already is. If it's undervalued ask yourself why everybody else failed to FOMO into it.

because there's a fine line between value picking and value traps. Oil and airliners are shitty value traps, but then you have undervalued gems like Party City and Tupperware which were the most unusual 10-baggers this year (Tupperware actually a 20-bagger by now), same shit with Bed Bath Beyond to a lesser extent. Also people are FOMOing into GME so i dunno what you're on

Gamestop is very clearly a value trap in its core, look at its performance pre-September
It took Cohen to jump in for people to start seeing the turnaround potential, and the best part about it is that the downside risk is relatively low because it was a value trap with a valuation at like 0.05x of its revenues then and a cleaned up balance sheet

of course there's a floor, you just had the wrong assumption on where the floor was

I used to not care about meme lines, but I started watching it now because other people take meme lines seriously and trade based on it. Put your stop losses under the moving averages, so they will trigger when shit actually hits the fan and induces a panic sell, other times it might just bounce of the moving average and you better hope you didn't put your stop loss OVER it like a blind dumbass

I still follow FA primarily obviously, but you really need TA for the specifics like for entering a position short-term, when to trim, and where to put your stop losses

clearly not enough to make it overvalued nor even make the price take off. GME was at $55 7 years ago, now it struggles to go back to $13, clearly there's no GME craze.

Note that I didn't say that undervalued stocks are shit but rather that shit stocks seem to tend to be undervalued and good stocks worth buying tend to be overvalued.

CLF "Investors seem to be underappreciating the incremental opportunities ahead for Cleveland-Cliffs, according to KeyBanc analyst Philip Gibbs. He said the purchase of ArcelorMittal USA could drive Cleveland-Cliffs’ stock to between $12 and $16 per share over the next several quarters. Gibbs added that a pending FCFE (free cash flow to equity) machine / freight train in the coming quarters should allow the company to deleverage.”

it's more because their share buybacks cut the # of outstanding shares by almost half, but the market didn't react to it because this was when GME bankruptcy risk was actually a thing, like with the uncertainty on next console cycle being digital, then corona, and then console cycle potentially being delayed by corona

Hypothetically, if GME somehow gets back to a market cap around 6 billion that it had in 2013, it would be at $100/share already
BUT that's just a moonshot lel, annual revenues have been on the decline for a decade despite the overall gaming market doubling in the same time, that's how retarded the gamestop board has been (e.g. "diversifying" into cellphone shops instead of buying Twitch)

0.5x revenues is a more reasonable target (~$45/share). No one here wants to hold Gamestop longer than 6 months (Q4) unless something revolutionary happens. $100 would be more like a 3-year target, FUCK that, I'll take profits before that and find something better at that point

>Too many normies know about gamestop now. No way it ever happens.
this is why you have to keep shilling that """infinite""" short squeeze is still in play
These normies don't have ortex data at their fingerprints, a lot of them will keep holding because they want some ridiculous number like $420.69/share

Most of us have single-digit cost basis and some people already cashed out prematurely (it's still +100% since September), just don't average up anymore
Shorts ARE starting to cover now, which would explain the morning spikes and the big block buys the last week. It just won't be an infinite squeeze because these are institutional short sellers and they have collateral in the billions, they will just cover gradually (and will probably switch to a bull position at the same time)

The only downside for GME was missing on PLTR. You can have both but obviously, only having one and picking right will net you the biggest gains.
PLTR is guaranteed 50-100 by this time next year, GME could be 30+ by February, or it could crab upwards forever.

Its up to you if you want to take the risk. I switched teams, but people talking shit about GME clearly don't understand it. If PLTR wasn't a thing, I'd still be in GME.

i still don't understand the PLTR play when i see pic related
Something can be essential, a monopoly, or whatever, but it doesn't necessarily translate to shareholder value

why does pic related warrant PLTR being valued at $34 billion and presumably even more? GME is very easy to understand on a value trap mentality and is unironically a safer play in terms of lower downside potential short-term.

but PLTR. i have not seen anyone share DD beyond hype. I don't care if the government thinks they're needed because it could still mean shareholders get fucked anyways (see airliners) even when the company itself will continue perfectly

CRSR made a lot of sense because it was reasonably valued at IPO, but i don't think anyone expected it would rally that hard and outperform QQQ

Also, BTIG Research made an in-depth analysis of Trump's impact on Twitter since he started running for office and pretty much came to the conclusion that he saved their asses. So are you willing to bet your money on a social media platform that built themselves around one guy for the past 4 years that is now leaving (even if he's currently saying he won't)? I wouldn't.

that's why Cohen is HUGE

without Cohen, GME would have to prove itself over a few quarters for a turnaround on shareholder value
With Cohen, the price rallied up even with a shitty Q2 with no guidance (the only thing good about Q2 was that they cannibalized themsleves to clean up their balance shit)
GME just needs one good quarterly and it might rocket up like OSTK did when it finally had a good quarterly thanks to covid

I still think Q3 will be shit but at least Sherman might be incentivized to actually give a fucking guidance this time, and maybe even complete the remaining share buybacks (~$101 million worth)
The Gamestop board are so slow honestly. They decided to pay off debt AFTER it started trading at par again, not when it was at 20% discount or whatever. Next they'll probably do share buybacks after it's already $15/share instead of when it was $6/share

seems to be the trend on IPOs, milk as much cash from retard retail as possible

which makes CRSR really surprising, it IPO'd at a relatively reasonable ~1x of its revenues. Fairly valued that I was considering to buy it eventually (because I have some Corsair parts in my PC), but not immediately because I didn't think it would outperform QQQ yet
I still dunno how it 2x'd like that, it's not like their margins were particularly impressive

im starting to think we might be in a bubble

But that's misleading obviously, that came from selling off some real estate assets, their corporate jet, and not replenishing inventory (this one is not as bad considering it's vidya shit at end of cycle)

Short squeeze is just a bonus, a KODK-tier squeeze won't actually happen, a squeeze to the level of ACB a couple weeks ago is also questionable. The rally after MSFT news didn't even last a full day because institutional short sellers weren't covering, don't count on a squeeze. This is just a turnaround swing

Trump was "controversial" though, which caused both his supporters to run in to defend him and his opponents to run in to attack him in mass, that's why he was so good for Twitter. Bernie and AOC lacks that kind of influence, they will have 80-90% of the platform agree with them (vast majority of Twitter are left-wing, hence the circle jerk I mentioned before), there won't be any almost daily "controversies" with those people, so why would new potential users (especially young people) come to Twitter rather than the more popular platforms like Instagram or Tiktok? They just won't.
Democrats not losing another election and Twitter being their go-to platform might sound good on paper for Twitter, but it's really not. BUT, I don't think we will see any major negative impact on Twitter until maybe Q3-Q4 2021 so you'll have time to pull out if things turn sour, as long as you actively watch them

On a warm summer's evening
On a train bound for nowhere
I met up with the gambler
We were both too tired to sleep
So we took turns a-starin'
Out the window at the darkness
The boredom overtook us
And he began to speak
He said, "Son, I've made a life
Out of readin' people's faces
Knowin' what the cards were
By the way they held their eyes
So if you don't mind my sayin'
I can see you're out of aces
For a taste of your whiskey
I'll give you some advice"
So I handed him my bottle
And he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a cigarette
And asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet
And his face lost all expression
Said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right
You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done
Every gambler knows
That the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away
And knowin' what to keep
'Cause every hand's a winner
And every hand's a loser
And the best that you can hope for
Is to die in your sleep"
And when he'd finished speakin'
He turned back toward the window
Crushed out his cigarette
Faded off to sleep
And somewhere in the darkness
The gambler he broke even
But in his final words
I found an ace that I could keep

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

AMD is pretty safe as well. Obviously not the same position size in my folio, but they basically own the future. Intel is really no competition at the moment and will not be for years unless they start investing and change course now. Even then they would essentially need to replace a few fabs.

im gonna be honest the main issue i have with tech like AMD and just FAGTMAANN in general is how overbought they all mostly are. which as many of us know is directly because of the softbank manipulation shit. combined with the FED propping the markets up during a pandemic, i just feel like there's a lot of downside risk there. it's less about AMD specifically but more "if some governmental-tier shit goes down tech is probably gonna crater". at the moment i feel like they've gone too high too fast. this is pretty easy to see on the daily chart of many of these companies.

so like i said a lot of them are consolidating now. note how high above the keltner AMD got, that sort of volatility is NOT normal (just look at it historically for example). it never stays up there for very long before dropping into a consolidation period. i probably won't consider buying AMD again until it at least sees a return to the 200 day MA, similar to a lot of tech like AAPL too.

like i said, lower risk but lower reward. MSFT is basically the KO of tech. note how it has a similar pattern to shit like AMD or AAPL but it's much less volatile, went much less distance above the channel, and is now much closer to the daily 200. so basically yes but if you're looking for a longer term position you probably want to buy around 200-205 area.

TSM doesnt care about Nasdaq index movements
you can go with that instead

They're basically like utilities stock but for tech companies
AMD is for running the wheel on a relatively safe but volatile pick. If you want to think about it in terms of valuation, AMD is at ~10x of revenues (with very much optimistic growth because of Intel shitting the bed) while NVDA is already at 25x of revenues and growth has proven to be slower than AMD the last few years

I think it'd be a crime to just hold AMD shares, you need to be taking advantage of that volatility the whole way up. Like you'd be paid a $500 payday (from maybe a $50K capital) just to write a WEEKLY prior to its earnings, like retards were buying up 75p and 90c for some reason

for TSM, the play seems to be just buy deep ITM calls on it since it's a crab upwards stock, basically Taiwan's boomer pick really. Even had a respectable >2% div yield earlier this year

Darden, Disney, and Royal Caribbean are fine. Planet fitness is a good meme though. I would say at least fatties are going to gym, but they probably eat pizza to "reward" themselves afterwards.

well obviously no, i wouldn't buy TSM LEAPs (even if they are ITM) on a spike like some anon here did when it spiked to $90 the first time (but even that anon should be green by now because TSM is so fucking solid .. ignoring the geopolitics risk)

I agree with $93-$94 being a fair entry point, it will bounce off the MA50 eventually. TSM might be the only ticker I have right now where im actually happy to see it dip. Even the pullback from $100 is pretty tame, it'll most likely just consolidate/crab at this range until the moving average catches up, rather than actually bouncing off MA50 in the short-term

Production capacity might not be able to expand that fast, but i'm expecting they'll start charging more for later orders (past mid 2021). Probably why AMD Zen 3 was more expensive too

Alright smg. I just recently started trading, small 4 figure account. Made 1.4k last week and feeling like I have a big dick. CRSR bringing in the bacon and is a majority of my portfolio. I bought the PLTR dip on Friday and will buy more tomorrow. I have a little cash Ive been using to flip these EV stocks for retarded gain. My goal is to hit 5 figures by the summer. Might be sooner if the bullrun keeps up. I think Im gonna make it.

A lot of American cities/states have ordered gyms closed periodically through out spring and now heading into winter. Ironically enough, physical fitness is probably one of the best ways to combat covid.

wow that's a huge shift away from looking at corona-recovery value plays though

Even if airliners are shit, there's still retailers you can look at. Though it's a bit too late now with Black Friday already next week. DDS had a pretty good earnings beat and that pick is basically just Sears

that's unironically a better idea if that's the route you want to take. do some crazy shit, at least go out in a blaze of glory instead of a cowardly faggot. if you're legitimately prepared to die anyways there's no risk to anything so you can do all of the things you were always afraid of doing with no real consequences for the most part. worst case scenario you die but you probably get to experience shit most people never experience in their whole lives along the way.

you'd still be better off not risking your life on stonks though. plenty of ways to make decent money in the markets with relatively low risk, you can literally just steal my hourly keltner channel on blue chip stocks strat and buy and hodl if you want.

Same as anywhere else I guess. Friendly and open people but all the younguns are leaving to the big city. So many old people now.
I really see no future for Europe, or at least the western side of it.

I don't plan on staying here. I'd rather be someplace warmer desu.
Maybe Greece or so.

This. The question that determines value is does it have a future? With the implication that at least some of the great reset internet dystopia pod living stuff is in store. GameStop barely survived this decade, of Cohen doesn’t take the reins and make it a solid e-commerce platform no one will and the stock is rightfully fucked.

>$93-94

i mean 93 is the 200 hour MA right now so you *could* buy there but it'd be the most aggressive buy you could do. really depends on your risk tolerance and how much you're willing to split up your money for DCA'ing. trust me i've looked at a lot of charts and considered starting my DCA from around the 200 or even just 4xATR below it but the best starting place is always going to be around 8-10x below the hourly on fundamentally solid stocks. and that's where i START my DCA'ing. so, really depends how much risk you're willing to take i guess, my whole strategy revolves around what is historically the least risky place to start a position with the most amount of upside.

Even the Mayo clinic says it's safe. But, covid only kills fat or old people, unless you're a freak case, which is kind of sad. It literally killed a young college student, I think actually named Chad, but even the article said this was a 1 in a million case.

But fatties can't lay off the refined carbs.

>PLTR DD has been shilled to death
i've been here the entire time and nowhere did I see substantial DD beyond mentions of PLTR being essential with a ton of government contracts. What exactly convinced YOU to jump into PLTR? Seems like most of /smg/ is just momentum trading when it finally stopped crabbing and managed to not dump harder as per usual IPO behaviour

im still not convinced that any of that justfies a 30 billion market cap. I'll bring up the airliner example again, the company itself being vital and essential does not necessarily translate to shareholder value

Don't get me wrong, i do look into shit myself and don't just blindly listen to posts here. I fucking hated Gamestop and almost disregarded it, but verifying the Cohen and ""short squeeze" bait shit myself easily convinced to sell QQQ and other shit to buy GME from end of August
