Why does this not feel like 2017? I know people say its 2016.. but something is off. All this institutional money going in, so you know its legit.. but a lot of these guys are hedge funds that could flip BTC for a profit.

Something just feels off. I'm long on crypto in general but I really have a gut feeling to take profits soon, or at least when BTC reaches ATH.

What say you?

That's what they do. Whenever the big boys announce what they're doing, they've already done it a while ago. The public is always 1 step behind.
Good luck.

What does this mean though? A crash then slow ascent upwards?

I'm just going by my experience with stocks. This seems to apply since they're using etf's for your coin. No idea if it will bounce back though.

Close your eyes for a moment and pretend it is the year 2030. What is the price of Bitcoin? How much do you hold? If you believe, none of this price action really matters. All that matters is that you held. 2011 is closer to now than 2030. Think about that for a moment

I understand this part but the speculation is still interesting to me. Regardless of my longs on crypto I still practice taking profits at the top of small market cycles - it gives me incentive to follow crypto more, and it makes me feel like less of a useless retard for devoting so much time to watching numbers go up or browsing this board.

I understand your point though.

I agree op. Let's play armchair qb here and say everyone is expecting 20k to be the top because of 2017 ptsd. Shorts pile up and then btc scamwicks to 28k. Is this the euphoric phase? I dont want to freeze again like 2017 and make sure I take some profit this time to have fun with.

It is true what the other anon said about institutions only shill once they have finished accumulating and are ready to dump their bags on you. In this sense I sense and am prepared for a massive dump. But the question remains, can they even dump the price, or will it be sustained because there are too many people who now realize what Bitcoin truly means?

Kind of depends on which side holds the most coin. Is it retail? Or is it the institutions? From what I've read in some of the threads, it seems to be institutions driving the current run.

Its institutions for sure. Even if the price going up matched the 4 year market cycle meme, institutions made this price go up.

Its different this run because 2017 wasn't like this. We weren't competing with institutions at this level.

Yes, it's institutions, and also the wealthy elite. Some will dump, but there may be others to take their place.
