Plebs store the coins on exchanges.
The exchanges use this as liquidity and are not 100% capitalized either. This artificially suppresses the price of the coin.
Not to mention if any exchanges is hacked or exit scams you're screwed.

you're more likely to get hacked yourself or just lose your bitcoins keeping them in a wallet than you are a regulated exchange in a western country hacking them.

Hardware wallet. Or even a paper wallet if you're really hardcore. Keeping it on an exchange with 2FA is still more safe than using a desktop wallet where your key is stored in plain text.

Depends on the exchange. Also the fees depend on networtk congestion. So lets say you call the top of the next bubble and you want to move it back to the exchange. Yeah that's gonna cost you. No idea if exchanges support lightning.

>store the coins on exchanges
Only do this if you are an investor (more than 6 months hold). Traders that trade daily/weekly need to compromise by having their coins on the exchanges or you will lots of money on fees, plus you need the liquidity to move rapidly, fag.

STOP SHITTING ON PAYPAL.
that walled garden is the most bullish thing I've seen in crypto. My mom will not be learning to use a wallet. My mom is a millionaire. Your ideological convictions are actively preventing me from making more money because you are scaring normies from buying bitcoin on walled exchanges.
Just stop. Breath. and Think for a minute. Walled gardens are the Layer 2 we wanted....but they are the Layer 2 we deserve.
