Have you heard of environmental enforcement officers? All they do is fine you for littering or dropping cigarette butts. That money doesn’t even go to any kind of pro-environmental cause, it just gets pocketed by a private company.

Same thing goes for lenders. You borrow money from them, which they borrow from somewhere else, except at a better interest rate, so they can make profit on the difference. They have no reason to exist other than to profit from being one more unnecessary middle man. That’s also why so many institutions are either opposed to crypto or attempting to cash in on its success- global adoption of p2p networks would render them obsolete unless they can competently make the switch.
