hey /biz/, I just quit a job i couldn't stand anymore for a W2 contractor role with the DoD that is temporary while I gain some experience in the field I want to be in. Anyways, I'm jumping ship from this current position that I'm in after 12 months. Would it make sense to role my 401k over into this new temporary contract role? I'm not really sure what to do

Negative, just an IT cuck. Starting to pivot towards info sec after being in data / financial analysis / program management. my current role is ad hoc as fuck and my brain needs structure. My pay is taking a 30% haircut with this new role but I don't fucking care anymore

You can have more than one 401k, if you think you might be switching jobs a lot maybe just collect 401ks and then roll them into an IRA later
