I really want to make it to the point where I can basically "early retire." I got way too many hangups about investing real amounts of money because I have no safety net. If I were sitting on a million dollars, I wouldn't be phased investing $5,000 here and there and when those inevitably go 10x (and further) I'd be making a ton of money back on my investment. and hey, if the shitcoin flops then "whatever"

Best advice is land in Bangkok, get a taxi to Pattaya; spend two nights in a popular hotel just pay cash on arrival, then go out during the day and find an apartment for a longer stay to rent, they’re fkn everywhere, I was on the Tony’s gym side of Pattaya, off Pattaya Klang road, make sure you don’t get rekt on converting your dollars you get a better rate on the ground over there at the local smaller exchanges, it was about 26thb to an aud when I went, it’s about 23 now
>>24083511
It’s a good place to go bro, it’s fun, you’ll find people like you around if you spend time at the gym during the day also, beach road you’ll have sloots grabbing your arm asking you to take them home and fuck then for 500-100 thb(for the night) I found The hotter less thrashed sloots on their local dating site over there tho they’d just show up, a few of them didn’t even charge me money cause they’re Probly trying to reel you in for something more serious. Just realise it’s all a game and don’t fall in love or get too attached, it’s about money and these women can make you feel great and special but if you’re not redpilled can be dangerous, but it’s a lot of fun and that’s what life’s about. Good place for a virgin , I went from Pattaya to Phuket to chalong to Krabi then our to Koh Phangang for full moon party it was fkn wild, just be cautious if you’re getting too drunk, I never really had an issue with safety but I’m Alert. Train, eat, get on testosterone, bulk up and fuck

How much do you have saved? Unironically the boomers profile is still about as safe as investing can be. 33% I or EE gov bonds. 66% stocks. Max your employer 401k and roth ira first, then the rest in a brokerage account. Just figure out how much you can put in every pay check and put that much in regardless of what the markets are doing. If you save enough you can retire early. Just set it and forget it. Barring some happening you will be fine. And if worse comes to worse just start working again.

A week and I lived well, not at all like a peasant . But the $ was about 15% stronger, this was around 2012

You can get away with living in a few other cities if you really watch yourself (don't go outside of touristy/rich areas, don't go out at night in places without people, etc.), but do you really want to live somewhere that you constantly have to look over your shoulder to make sure some bored low level cartel whacko doesn't decide to butcher you for fun?

set more reasonable goals, guys. there isn't *one* particular number to be free. focus first one getting a reasonable place to live. of course it's fun to say "im not gonna settle for anthing less than 100 acres with a modern yet wood-interior cabin in remote area with a river and mountains in the background", but you'll sleep better with a more tangible goal.

my mortgage is about half my monthly expenses, so paying that off would decrease my expenses by roughly that amount, though i suppose i'd still have like 700 bucks in annual taxes and id probably still have homeowners insurance costs. figure first on securing your own place before planning on completely fucking off from society.
