The price increases and people sell smaller subdivisions of the coin, but price of bitcoin will keep going up if more people are using it. So just like gold, it means no one can control it, it depends on the people using it and holding it. It becomes ever scarcer, so more valuable over time. No government can just come out and print more fucking bitcoin and give it to the top billionaires in order to devalue the store the bitcoin you already own. They do this with real money, print that shit so overall their percentage of money they hold is higher than yours and thus they steal from you without even fucking meeting you face to face.
