are there any miners here?

i was thinking about making a setup out of a few old cards (280-380s) to mine ethereum. whats the compatibility like with old cards, is it possible to run them on the same mobo with newer cards? ive even got an old 7990 but i wasnt sure if it would run due to compatibility issues

Its a shame that this wholesome content of a thread is being ignored while biz is being swamped by niggercoin bullshit

I'm thinking it was sparked naturally by a shitpost, but CTR is pumping it up to have on the news in a few days. CNN most likely, it'll be another pepe episode. Actually I bet they try and link it to the pepecoins as well.

I'm also thinking of the same stuff. From what I recall one of the main points here is kw/hr cost.

It works. You can still use a 7990 as far as I recall

im looking through some of the mining calculators and it seems that the older cards are alright for mining ethereum, but the power costs are a little high. apparently 280s are great for mining shitcoins like zencash

>tfw i have tons of solar panels to mine and not waste electricity

Welp, guess im going to work lads.

Realistically, is it worth it at this point to invest in a mining rig? What would be your GOAT tier rigs?

>> No.2403489

I got some of my rig parts in the mail last week but I couldn't get it to turn on, then I had to work for 3 days straight.
What do? I dont have a power switch but using a metal thing to connect the power pin to ground did nothing.

I'm pretty much using my 1080ti and my 970 to mine. Getting around $12 USD a day

There is if Ether keeps going up in price. My dream rig would be a couple of AMD's unreleased Vega CPUs Radeon R9 295X2 (57 MH/s) or a NVIDIA Tesla P100 (69MH/s).

Of course this is to hell with the power costs or return ratios.
