I started my current (and first FT) job 2.5 years ago and I think it became quickly became apparent that I come off as introverted (it just depends who I speak to) and I thought maybe this would be bad for me long-term, but now somehow I seem to be well liked among my colleagues even though I rarely talk to them.

No manager cares about your social skills in any way. Either you produce value for them or you don't. Forget being confident. The real question is if you're competent.
