that being said, premiums can go to zero and people often buy a shit ton of contracts at once (YOLOing) which equates to a coinflip. if you had simply bought the stock you can just hold when your bet is wrong. further, holding contracts devalue through time (theta decay)

I see this argument made all the time here - this is a very silly argument - if there are 10 people unemployed but 1 person in a high paying job still employed, it will still be a net negative on the economy. We are a consumption driven economy - those 10 people now receiving no or less income = less money spent on consumption. The service sector has also gotten slammed.
The market will keep going up, but that is due to the Fed's ballooning balance sheet - not because "everyone that matters is still employed"

Unlike anything else in existence TSLA is the convergance play for robotics (automated cars are robots), deep learning, energy storage, automated ride hailing, and software as a service (extremely profitable as unit costs are zero). If you believe in the exponential future of even one of these then TSLA is a shoe-in. If they all explode then TSLA is a potential 5 trillion dollar company.

There is a certain element of harmony in that maddening of the impoverishment of self-centered sheep that we call the under class wagies.

Most don't even know they are getting poorer, because they don't understand basic economics. 2020 has shown the sheepishness of most of our society. Willing to have liberty stamped out for non-existant protection.

Stimulus to the wall, fuck the wagie. Democrats basically enslave the lower classes, then the lower class kisses them on the lips for it, lmao.

I don't consider cars assets unless you have a classic car with value. A 2020 Honda civic is really not worth much and depreciates very fast.

Stocks, land, bonds, home equity, etc are all net worth increasing. I think your mortgage does subtract from your net worth. And obviously renting is a money black hole.

Stuff like pokemon cards, coins, etc. are always iffy too. I wouldn't consider them equity. But, the gold or silver does itself have value.

Depending on where you live and property taxes, renting can actually be the smarter option in the long term since savings can be put into other equity classes instead. Being a landlord is filthy and digusting, but gives you an inflation adjusted income stream. There is a reason boomers have trashed everything except that.

QE causes that and every round of QE makes it worse. All the money printed during the GCF went into FAANG i.e. the equivalent of savings.
The Fed has been losing the way against money velocity since day 1. Because money velocity is psychological in nature. If it "were" fixed suddenly you'd get absolutely rip your face off inflation from all that money getting stored in savings being dumped on the actual economy.

GME bros, just to restate the situation.
After reading Cohen's letter multiple times, my gut tells me to walk away. You can really feel his frustration at GME's stupidity.
One of two things is going to happen:
1.) Full on Hostile Take-over.
2.) He tells them to go fuck themselves and abandons GME (might even create a competitor in online retail that fits his vision).

I sold all my shares and fully completed my transition to PLTR earlier today. I'm not shilling, there is a 50/50 chance this goes really good or really fucken bad for GME. My gut tells me to walk away.

Lmao, yeh I think there are cases like this in all communities.

I think one primary factor in normies/wagies is they think the 9-5, 6 days a week or 30 days a month 1 day off is normal. Like "this is life, its just what it is" and they don't relize they hard blood and sweat is being abused by people above them they will never know living well.
Because of this, they odn't see any reason to save/invest as they don't want to escape. (brain washed)

"Retirement" is 20 years away bro, deal with it later, let's buy a new Car!!!!

Hell, NEETs often have a better quaility of life. I work for myself and always have done on my own company and I am doing well. Nothing crazy, but the payment of freedom far exceeds anything.

Fuck imagine being that brainwashed.

Good call desu, I don’t blame you. The bull in me thinks he’d be smart enough to know that whining publicly won’t do shit and that this is all a formality before a takeover, and the rest of the institutions seem to be confident around the same time this is coming to a head. I don’t think he would waste his time in the first place if he was just buying a stake to get an audience since management being stubborn is pretty self evident.
