It was merely following the market at the time. There was no utility to the XRP ledger in 2017/2018. Many other cryptos also skyrocketed.

Either way some whale ate up the sell wall pretty quickly and prices came crashing. Since then whales have been hesitant to buy. This is due to a few reasons. Whales saw how the price came down so quickly do to the action of a few whales, there is no proof of work behind XRP so that caused FUD, and how XRP has on the magnitudes of billions in circulation, etc.


At least those are my theories on why it stayed low after the atm for all this time.

If baba's timeline is accurate though, utility will bring a price increase.
