You will almost certainly operate at a loss by mining Bitcoin.

You wouldn't even earn enough btc to pay your electricity bill.
I doubt you'd get $50 a year.
Competition/difficulty is way to high for gpu mining on sha.
To mine anything with a gpu, you need a propper mining rig with 7+ GPS.
To mine btc you need ASIC miners but they are a fallacy as they are only available to the public once they are out dated.
Get a 5900x and a 6800xt and have 95% the performance of a pc that costs 3x as much. And if you want to earn passive crypto then try yield farming.

I mined BTC and ETH for a few years....

Want some advice.... instead of trying to mine with that 5k you'd do better to just buy 5k worth of bitcoin....

If you need a pc in any case then spend 1k on that and then 4k on BTC....

People mine bitcoin with free electricity and specifically built computers for just that purpose. Your 5k gamer rig will not generate you a profitable income.

>> No.23961242

>>23959871
Seriously, how stupid are you?

Mining was possible on a general purpose PC back in 2010.

By 2011 people had figured out GPU mining and you needed a box full of high-end GPU cards to mine profitably.

By 2012 FPGAs had been programmed to mine Bitcoin and the graphics cards guys were getting fucked.

In 2013 the first ASIC mining rigs were released and the FPGA guys got smoked.

Nowadays you need a farm of ASIC mining rigs to get 1BTC over the course of a full year. Someone on Reddit just posted that he estimates he can make 0.75BTC in one year with his farm of 12 Antminer S9s, with free electricity. So, if he's right, you need 16 of those, and that's assuming your electricity is free because you live in a dorm or something.

>>23959899
It IS profitable if you have a source of low-cost electricity. That's why mining is being done at places like oil refineries, where they're harvesting the power from flare-off gases instead of just wasting it.

Seriously, you are either literally retarded or have done zero research. Fuck you either way.
