checked but wrong. there are metrics used specifically by institutions which is why you see them being respected on the chart so frequently. also the keltner channel is just a volatility indicator, it's just telling you when price has moved extremely far away from the (long term) average price which often means it will reverse from there. it's useful for giving an easily seen metric for what is "low" and what is "high". it's especially useful since roughly 80% of the time the market ranges, so you really only have to account for the times when it doesn't which is usually for FA reasons which you're supposed to combine with the TA.

for example BABA is at the bottom of the keltner channel right now but im not buying it because they're only there because they pissed of xi jinping himself, also i don't trust chinese companies in the first place. so despite the TA saying to buy i don't, even though honestly it will likely wind up having been a great place to buy and hold or at least start DCA'ing a position if you think they'll be fine ultimately. that FA is the key.

the main problem is that too many people especially retail think of indicators as """magic lines""" and don't understand what information the indicators are actually portraying. they also don't understand risk management or fundamentals or other factors that need to be added into the equation in order to increase the odds of success especially in the long term (i.e. over a large series of trades).

like the keltner channel for example, it's showing you volatile movements away from the mean. i doubt most people understand what it's actually portraying and why it works on larger timeframes because volatility itself is a mean-reverting phenomenon that is largely unsustainable in the majority of cases, especially when those cases aren't backed up by some real FA to support why they're crashing or mooning so hard. like FDX doesn't make sense until you understand the FA behind their profits for this year because of covid, so the gigantic volatility (which is now seemingly starting to taper off) has been warranted in the short term.

you never want to short, you would have wanted to go long around this area. also VIX ever getting over 70-80ish is a big flashing sign as to roughly where the bottom is. also resistance.

also note how we're tagging the top of the channel again, don't be surprised if we sell off again from here. but on the daily you can clearly see where you should have bought or at least started DCA'ing in.

zooming in, i'd say these are the areas to watch out for. of course there are no guarantees or anything but generally speaking the outer limits of the keltner channel are "extreme" volatility movements from the long term average price and so they are high probability areas for a reversal. it's a lot better if you can combine it with FA though.

don't put too much weight on the price action, look at the fact that everyday has been below average volume
even vaccine news day was like half the average volume

basically GME is a crab stock until Q3, both sides are waiting for confirmation on what GME really is.
If it still can't turn a profit or can't give a guidance on Q3, this shit is dumping back to $9 unless they did share buybacks (if they were gutsy they could have reduced outstanding shares by like 15% right after Q2)

There's also the 20K open interest on 17p that worries me.. it's both a buy and sell obviously, but like did someone buy 20K puts at a heavy premium, or did someone sell 20K puts for cheap. The volume on that was out of nowhere

I'm trying to value KL and based on my estimates, they'll make roughly $11B in the next 10 years if gold price holds at 1800 (very simplistic analysis, ignore the method for a moment), which would give a 8% annual return on the current share price, is this the right way to approach this?

Tomorrow is the start of a new week. Another 5 days of stock trading, observing the graphs, looking at the news from all over the world. Seeing how stuff that's currently happening as well as Q3 reports coming in impact the prices of my stock.

What the fuck are you talking about? Having a bit of chronic tendinitis or mild arthritis in your joints isn’t going to disqualify you for any contracting job.

You misinterpret the word “disabled”.

You aren’t actually disabled or unable to do things. It’s part of the compensation package that if you aren’t returned to civilian service in the EXACT condition you were received, you get a check for the rest of your life.

>is it over for amazon (chink version)?

probably not. you'll never catch me investing in china ever because of all of the stuff i've learned about their shady business practices (luckin coffee, sino forestry, etc), but from a TA standpoint they are at a very good price to be buying right now. i don't like that their FA is shit right now because they pissed off xinnie the poo, but i wouldn't be surprised at all if, similar to the election, my meme lines were still right ultimately and the price will rise above the 200 hour MA yet again and probably get to the top in short order. BABA is hardly some little no name company but i mean "chink starbucks" went under too so who knows.

BABA right now is basically risky FA-wise but very cheap TA-wise, place your bets accordingly. i don't know shit about their FA beyond the fact that they're chinese and pissed off the chinese govt which is generally something you want to avoid doing.

They didn't freak out because it was only announced for one day and then the next day they rescinded it. I'm sure they got wind of the blowback and shut it down fast. I think it's coming though, they just fucked up an announced it prematurely. On the other hand, they might have done it to pump the market and profit, because the day he announced it stocks stagnated, when they rescinded it that's when they pumped. I think it got investors paying attention then the word was no full lockdown and everybody bought up. I have no idea what the next move is.
