WFHing while attending a virtual conference is the best. My job considers virtual conferences the same as real ones, so I have no deadlines.
I'm just staring at the swiggly meme lines on my personal computer while the "conference" blabbers on on my work laptop.
I never want to go to another real conference again.

with the vaccine getting closer to distribution the days of WFH could be over soon. our only hope is this mutation in denmark which might require a new vaccine. let's hope for the worst.

Yeah this is why I ignore job postings where you have to attend shit. Even if you make >150k, fuck that.
Enjoy while it lasts.

I used to like conferences. It's always better than actually doing my job. Plus I could charge for my meals while traveling and actually save money on the week and not have to cook.

It depends. On one side, WFH and Covid allowing you to do so while spending less energy for retarded forced socializing with normalfags is great. However many people believe that such a system is blurring the border between a working and social environment. It wouldn't be unusual to start seeing bosses or co-workers calling you at home even after your shift ended for a "quick fix", since you're at home and "it won't take long".

I really hope I make it sooner rather than later thanks to crypto and other activities. I can't stand this situation anymore

Just sign off at 5pm and ignore any messages past that. You could claim you weren’t near your computer. Plausible deniability.

My company is looking to make wfh a more permanent part of the office. I'd be happy with a 3 days wfh, 2 at the office per week compromise.
