>Hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has put on another bet that companies will struggle to pay their debts, just eight months after he cashed in a $2.6bn profit from a similar trade at the start of the pandemic.

>The founder of Pershing Square told attendees at the Financial Times’ Dealmakers conference on Tuesday that markets had once again become too complacent about the coronavirus.

>At the start of this week he put on a new trade hedging his equity exposure with insurance against corporate defaults, he said.

>“I hope we lose money on this next hedge,” Mr Ackman said. “We’re in a treacherous time generally and what’s fascinating is the same bet we put on eight months ago is available on the same terms as if there had never been a fire and on the probability that the world is going to be fine.”

First time i bought a lot of calls cause of that guy. Im pretty bitter. Threw like 15k into buy calls and he tanked the market. I lost 7.5k in less than 24 hours. I won a lot of money shortly before that and figured i played recklessly versus my thought out method. What a regrettable choice. Also bought a bunch of shares in a stock cause "hey theyll be fine" ended up tanking and lost like 5k, they went lower too over time and if i held until now id still be down even after the recent pumpd. Ended up buying longer dated options, they all failed. Lost tens of thousands in a month by simply not thinking it through.

Absolutely pissed so many mistakes I made, that if I didn't do, I'd be at very low 6 figures not worried about getting a job because i have low cost of living standards.

The delta I use is entirely dependent on the premium and price action range of the given stock, there is no rule of thumb I can give you.

Once again, set up a trailing buy as a stop to get your option back no matter what strike you are at. I usually go half the premium paid, meaning if I sell a call at $20, I buy it back if it hits $30.

Best advice on setting strikes is to ride a couple different stocks for a while (like a couple quarters) and you’ll get a feel for what you can and can’t get away with.

>USFD
That was my second choice, went with DENN and I try to avoid diversifying.
USFD now 23% down from February high.
DENN still down around 40%.
I know price memory is bullshit but these companies should correlate, that tells me investors are still too cautious about DENN and it has more recovering to do.

Least risk longterm hold portfolio:
~60% VOO - lowest fee S&P500 ETF
~20% QQQM - lowest fee NASDAQ ETF
~20% BST - BlackRock Science & Technology
Optional: add 1 stock to 10% of your portfolio, one stock that you have a lot of faith in

Medium risk, high long-term reward, requiring you to work at it / learn everyday:
Start selling covered calls on stocks that are $100 or less that you believe in
Look into these:
CX
PLUG
LAC
You don't need to go all-in, just start practicing

Highest risk, highest reward:
Wait for Chinese EV earnings this week and next. If they are great, and the market in general isn't dumping (both US & Chinese markets, check HSI / SSE / SZSE before buying) buy after earnings asap. If the earnings are bad (which they will be 80% probability) then wait ~2 weeks for them to stabilize and start momentum upward (buy too late - do not try to call the bottom) go all-in on the one that has the best report (imo XPEV was the horse to back in this race, but now after seeing BABA the last few days.. haha..)

I wouldn't recommend buying anything this week honestly. Next week the House is going to be back in session - it'll be when everyone realizes that there won't be stimulus until January as nobody will want to compromise and make a deal

Just opened up their 10q, and here's the basic breakdown:

>MC: 6.3 B
>S/O: 509 M
>Debt: 16,342 M
>Cash: 243 m
>Net Cash: 3,680 M

Taken straight from their 10/22 filing with the SEC. Without going much further, it isn't looking terribly promising short term. Their cash flow coming in has been absolute dog shit this year and yet even other companies are making progress.
