Fixed rate.

No more than 25% of your take-home pay.

I dont get americans
they're either like this turbo boomer or 500.000$ in debt with 900 credit cards while acting like everything is ok

Dave has some pretty good advice for the average 90 IQ normie, but he gives some advice that I'm sure has led to many men getting absolutely fucked during a divorce.

>be a good little betabux and fix all her bad life choices
>woman good man bad every call
>mix your finances! She would never clean out the joint checking account, serve you divorce papers, and leave you broke and homeless!

It starts with student loans. Then credit cards. Then a car payment.
Boomers are pretty stupid too though Dave Ramsay says you shouldn't build credit and donate 10%+ of your money to church.

This guy is the financial equivalent of a pushups/situps fitness program.
Good for the absolutely clueless but practically useless if you already have common sense and an IQ above 100

is this that guy on the radio who tells people to pay off their debt?

i worked with a dude who was obsessed. we had to take longish drives in a truck together most days and he would just let this station run all day and he would nod and then occasionally give me advice. it was all people who got fooled into buying houses and putting everything on credit without wiritng down their expenses on a spreadsheet. just living like that for 10 years

Cant you pay it off earlier? If your bank doesnt allow early payments, you fucked up.
I wouldnt go for anything shorter than 15 years just for the sake of security, but aim should be to gtfo slavery asap by paying off more than minimum required rate.
