Remember the WEF article about how by 2030 we will own nothing and have no privacy? A common bit of source material for "great reset" hysteria? Here's the article:
Here's the closing quote from the article:
>Author's note: Some people have read this blog as my utopia or dream of the future. It is not. It is a scenario showing where we could be heading - for better and for worse. I wrote this piece to start a discussion about some of the pros and cons of the current technological development. When we are dealing with the future, it is not enough to work with reports. We should start discussions in many new ways. This is the intention with this piece.
So this "article", or more accurately, blog post think piece, was literally just a way to generate discussion about certain technological advances. It wasn't the WEF laying down their future plans, it was literally one Danish politician spitballing about what the future might look like, and inviting us to consider whether that future is good or not.
No conspiracy, no WEF mission statement, just a blog post. Just "Here's some shit that is happening, do you think it's good or bad"?

How does that get weaponised into great reset hysteria? Who is lying to you? Who is blowing up that absolute nothing in an attempt to make you scared? What else are they lying about?

full of misinformation and usually depressed women haters like to pervert information that fits to their world wide narrative and then pushing their agenda
its a disorder of young man's mind when they were not loved when kid, sad but truth, there is many examples and i can go to middle ages when one guy wrote about witch hunting (witch=healer) that led to kill many innocent womens and especially 60% were underage. Only because he was probaly ugly and unloved childhood, many suffered.

Doubt it will happen always needs to be some people earning more than others for innovation.
Competition.
But we could see many with savings losing it all in the name of socialism.
Depends how bad this Covid depression is.
Potentially another 1928 event.
It would be interesting to see how it plays out for crypto bros.

That's not a refutation of the fact that many economists are entertaining the idea of a new era of market capitalism. The framework for it is not universal of course but you'd be wise to factor in the possibility of many nations undergoing huge reforms in the nesr future. And since this seems like the type of thread to devolve into shitflinging I'm going to clarify that the link I included isn't there to say "see? They're endorsing all the same stuff!" It's there to say "they believe a major change is coming and have suggestions for it."

So the main problem is that the world has a huge population surplus (not the same as overpopulation) and outdated financial infrastructure. In the future resource scarcity (mainly of living space and food) will necessitate stuff like UBI and soft rationing which will require blockchains to run.

Who wouldn't expect a global policy organization like the WEF to frame this pandemic as an opportunity to "start again" in certain ways?
And honestly people on /biz/ are probably miles ahead of the average norman in terms of anticipating what this change will look like, because we have a better understanding of the sort of changes smart contracts will precipitate.
But when these largely innocuous statements get weaponized into "the jews are going to ban private property and destroy the white man" then i feel inclined to call these propagandists out at some point, especially when they're citing sources like the one in the OP which are demonstrably absolute bullshit.

Smart cities, IoT, smart contracts etc. But mostly a bunch of hand waving aspirational bullshit from overpaid bureaucrats.
Plenty of people here already know that smart contracts are going to annihilate entire departments of white collar employees, and that the number of programming jobs will be massively outweighed by the removal of current white collar busywork. You don't need a WEF conspiracy around it, it's going to be massively socially disruptive anyway. The question comes down to "do you bring in a UBI, or do the rich get weaponized drone swarms while the 99% starve to death."

>How does that get weaponised into great reset hysteria?

By WEF themselves tweeting dumbass shit like "by 2030 you'll own nothing and never be happier." It's so insanely tone deaf that if I didn't personally know some of the "Davos people", I'd think they were trying to provoke a negative reaction. There's really nothing deeper to it than that: Elites sending down messages from on high that are kinda retarded, and people assuming they're orders rather than discussion topics.

If you read into the policies being proposed in these articles and presentations you can see that a lot of them are more about eroding personal freedom than modernizing society.

>a bunch of hand waving aspirational bullshit from overpaid bureaucrats
That's the impression I got too. Everything they put out is basically a buzzword salad.
As far as the things they actually appear to be pushing (judging from the programs they're involved in) are along the lines of helping refugees (for example with legal support), open borders and the whole "equality" ideology. Though even their initiatives page is pretty vague and buzzword laden.
>The question comes down to "do you bring in a UBI, or do the rich get weaponized drone swarms while the 99% starve to death
It's a strange thing to think about. We're basically talking about a situation where the price of human labor crashes to zero in substantial sectors of the economy. Of course that would cause intense competition and the pay to drastically decline for the remaining jobs.
With a UBI and high levels of automation, products of labor would be cheap, but things with finite supplies may become prohibitively expensive.
