I didn't even know what an ethereum was until 2017. I saw a thread on /b/ in 2009 that I will never forget. Op was talking about how bitcoin "was legit money" and "will be the greatest shift in the history of the world" He even posted the whitepaper, it may very well have been satoshi. The price at the time? $13. EXPENSIVE, I thought it was something videogame related and probably a scam. when i was in like 8th grade i started getting into bitcoin, had money that i had earned from working various odd jobs, wanted to get in (and ideally start mining). i had enough money for 0.5BTC
explained it all to my parents, they completely misunderstood how mining worked, convinced me that someone was going to use my computer to plan terror attacks or upload CP or some shit
didnt do it
came back to my parents when it hit 26k, told them how much money they gyped me out of
13k isnt much to you guys, but to a then-high schooler with <100 at any point in time that was huge
happened right around when i was getting into uni and being super strapped financially, looking at loans, that money couldve changed my life
