I'm not saying its a zero sum game. I think silver will do well against the dollar in coming years, but metals have their valuation because there is a vast network of actual people that value it, for the same reason why a $100 has it's value ultimately. For the same reason why wampum had real value at one time.

I just think Bitcoin and cypto at large will perform the best because of its marketability, it's accessibility, it's divisibility, and its utility. Crypto just is more popular among the youth than metals are, perhaps there is a financially revolutionary aspect to that where young people don't feel as though the other markets don't provide them a future.

One thing is for sure though. If I was in-charge, I wouldn't miss the opportunity to use crypto as a soft transference of wealth from an aging population to a young population in a time of great financial inequality

You have no idea how anything in the market works. The reason why Bitcoin tanked during COVID is because Bitcoin right now is a volatile asset and people put stop losses to save their gains. Bitcoin is composed of two kinds of people: Speculators and people who actually understand the use of Bitcoin. The speculators buying Bitcoin on leverage and who want to exit as fast as possible get BTFO during price drops. Stop Loss Orders trigger other stop loss orders and cascade to the ground value. Covid triggered stop losses because some people simply had not other choice but to sell Bitcoin. i don't think EVs are bullshit. i think they're here to stay because they're cleaner and better for the sort of driving a lot of people do. batteries are slowly getting better.

NYC used to smell like exhaust fumes all the time. it no longer smells like that because of catalytic converters. at some point almost all city drivers will be on EVs, and to make that happen they need lots of raw materials. and hugely populated nations like india and china will be looking to modernize as well.

also available on LTC, which could better handle the increased load anyway with a 2.5 minute block time. it's also relatively asic-resistant so it would discourage inefficient miner wars that increase energy consumption but not decentralization. i even have my doubts that ltc would be usable though. even with layer 2 solutions it will still have to handle a lot of on-chain transactions. do we really want all that money going to china? no.

Well he had a stroke and can’t move half his body and now has dementia so needs to be in a facility with 24/7 medical staff that costs 5k a month. With corona we can’t even visit him Physically and have to go to a window outside and anytime we do he just complains about how much he hates it there. He even yelled at my dad and told him to leave the other day if he can’t get him out of there. Not our fault Corona won’t let us do anything besides go to a window for a visit. You will never get it as long as you tell yourself that PayPal is the best crypto currency.
Once you finally come to terms with the fact that NOBODY cares about the spending use case, things will become much clearer. You will then be able to realize that store of value is a very real, and very lucrative, use case. And then, finally, you will realize that all the things you thought were bad about BTC (inefficiency, slow tps) are because they make total sense for a SoV use case and make BTC be the best fit for it.
And then you will FOMO in.

>> No.23747578

Because BTC is by far the best technology adapted to the store of value use case. Not just the best of the current alternatives, but so good that improvements are theoretically hard to imagine. It's almost impossible for a competitor to come up with something that is so much better (and that BTC could not incorporate) that it would make up for the first mover advantage. Nothing that could have a chance has even been tried.
Don't listen to anyone calling BTC a boomer coin. BTC is the only real innovation in the crypto space to date, with the possible exception of Chainlink. People who don't get this don't get crypto.
