So what happened? Shortly after the mainnet launch, the founder ( Jack) told the dev chat (rocknblock is in it) that he was going to sleep. 9 minutes after he said this, the devs( YES THE FUCKING DEVS) exploit it.

they uploaded the real one to their github but when they deployed, they swapped it out with one that has a backdoor

As it currently stands the dev company, RocknBlock, was hired to code the contracts for Axion.


The original code was posted on Github and was audited by Hacken and Certik and were certified as safe.


On launch day RocknBlock deployed a contract different to the audited contract. This is clear as Certik found the exploit in the deployed contract and has confirmed that the deployed contract was not the same as the contract that was audited.


So someone at RocknBlock intentionally inserted the malicious code into the contract and deployed it instead of the correct contract.

It's such an elementary crime. All he did was add a few extra lines on the contract. It wouldn't take an auditing company to cross reference the old code with the new to see this extra code. It wouldn't take very long either and it wouldn't be difficult to find the perpetrator.

The only single issue was the RNB dev who was deploying, the team has even now agreed to take a portion of the buybacks replenish the liquidity pool. I was pretty sure they were scammers but it's not looking like they are.

Things do not look good from where I stand.
This attack vector could've been prevented and ultimately it was the owner responsibility to make sure that didn't happen. And as it seems, they will continue to work with the dev team after this fuck up. They hired an already publicly known scammer to deploy the contract.
On top of that, the project owner was not reachable for several hours after the launch, right during the period in which the shit was hitting the fan. With no clear direction the team decided to close communications and put down the website. Hex2T price dropped like a rock as people were trying to cover their losses. A lot of trust was lost, and rightly so.
And if you go to the discord group right now, you'll see a lot of discussion surrounding who should be compensated or not for the relaunch. Greed is a hell of a drug.
Some people are talking of a snapshot before the hack but a mod is already hitting at the fact that the ones who sold after they've seen the exploit in action should not be compensated. Even though the exploit was ultimately the team's fuck up. If this goes forward, you can bet that all those that sold at a loss won't be coming back.
