Why should I invest in a billion dollar market cap shit like BTC? For BTC to double in value 250 billion need to pour in. For a small 5 million marketcap coin to double o only 5 million need be invested. I don't really understand why people invest in BTC other than degenerate 100x leverage trading.

You must be baiting. Do you know what buy and sell pressure are? Bezos has a net worth of hundreds of billions of dollars but if he wanted to turn all that stock into cash tomorrow he would only get a tiny tiny fraction of that amount, because only so many people are willing to buy it from him at a high price. Selling pushes the price down.

Saying that it takes:

shows a gross misunderstanding of what market cap is, because it would take way less cash going in to put a market cap that high, because the moment you buy it creates buying pressure driving the price up, driving the market cap up.

Market cap is meaningless. You could have a bad news story that turns the value people are willing to pay to 0 overnight, zeroing out your market cap without any money "pouring" in or out. Works the same way with good news.

I shouldn't even argue with you cause to unironically believe a coin in your 5 coin supply scenario you are willing to pay $10 for equals a $50 MC. This would only be true if the price would end up being $10 but it is not. And if the price is $10 that means it's traded and the money is actually in the Market. You only paid $10 for it as the only actor in the market - doesn't mean that it's worth that. If go out and pay $2000 for a roll of toilet paper that doesn't mean all other rolls are suddenly also valued at $2000. I'm just a retard in that scenario just like you.

Here's some hypotheticals for you. Enron coin has a market cap of $1bn. Tomorrow it turns out it's a huge scam, or made illegal to hold by the government, or whatever gets decimated in a day. Where is your "flow" of cash that would be needed to make it change all its value?

Or how about this one, stock is worth $5, it turns out that a company is planning to buy that company at $10 a share, price immediately doubles, even though there was no money "flowing" in to double the cost, because the stock is now worth double in the minds of everyone who held it or wanted to buy it because it will be exchanged for $10 no matter what.
