45 to 50k Aussie dollars, so 35k usd. Probably more equivalent to about 30k usd due to our shitty purchasing power. Petrol station attendant. Idk pays the bills, I share a house with some school friends so rents cheap and I'm in a moderately cheap city anyway. Save 100-300 bucks a week. No real career options at all, I'm completely unskilled at 26 years old. No aspirations of any. Just want to own a home so I can live off a two day work week, semi retired. Somehow yes. Right now is definitely a trickier situation for soccer games but my association preferences me for games cause I'm good and been with them for 9 years. They throw me on the cash games which will usually always be played cause theyre a special youth league. Can't say the same for normal games; I know lots of referees who can't get any games cause teams cancel day of due to a covid case.

My association has been pretty good and the referees don't come into contact with anyone nor have to talk to anyone. If a coach or parents don't have a mask we can throw them out which is also a $100 fine and helps protect us as contractors. Cant complain really

I'm scared for the future anons, especially with what I've seen in this thread, I have free college and am earning a chemical engineering degree, but seriously what's the point anymore, everything just seems so bleak and the suffering seems endless while the upside seems limited and the possibility for satisfaction in life appears to be just a fantasy?

get into HVAC, usually starts low but the potential for pay increases is pretty much unlimited in the first 5 years.
I got into HVAC at 26, I'm 30 now and make over $120,000/year easy.
I didn't graduate highschool and I didn't go to college.
I just switched to sales so my maximum potential if I just fucking killed it will be somewhere around $250,000/year depending on the size of company I work for.

I was an installer for 3 years, lead installer for two of those.
You usually start at 7am, load trucks figure out job for the day, drive to job, bust your ass and then go home once everything is working.
If your company is nice, your jobs will be laid out well and you wont have issues.
If your company sucks you will have lots of issues.
lots of issues = more time in field = more hourly pay, BUT you will get burnt out and not have any sort of social life.
just gotta weigh what you want. If fat paychecks and busting your ass sound good, do it. Try to find a happy medium though, which usually means jumping around to a lot of companies.

Service tech is another good route but I personally hate it, long hours, on-call work so you usually work weekends or have a rotating schedule.

Install helpers depending on location start between $12.50 and $20/hr depending on state and location.

Service techs start at usually the same rate and obviously get a bump when they can go on calls solo.

service has a higher chance of making you more financially stable in a shorter period of time, but install is generally the more middle of the road approach as your hours will be relatively more stable and your pay will grow a lot more steadily.

I started at $19/hr in WA state as an installer, was making $25 my second year, $30 my third year and now since I am a project manager / sales I basically make $50/hr + bonuses and comission which totals around $120k/year to $140k/year, almost double that if I go to sales full time.
