>New projects on boarding every week
>Still holding a 4x from late july (many cryptos are down 90% from the level they were at at this time)
>Projects are frequently the most talked about in the space (Circles UBI for example)
>Still seen as the best scaling solution by many in the ETH community

The only thing that went wrong was that some weak hands sold, thinking the only use case for this thing was reddit. Ridiculously undervalued when you consider this is used more than OMG or Matic.

My only hangup is that transactions on network don’t require STAKE the way transactions on ethereum require ETH, done for sake of ease of use I guess but terrible for tokenomics

No, they weren't announced as winners. But that was one of the projects that moved from ETH mainnet to xDai stating why the moved.

My guess is the reddit engineers are retarded and legitimately don't seem to understand how ethereum works. They made a big stink about how you shouldn't transfer your tokens off Rinkeby in the testing phase. They don't seem to understand what it's like to have true decentralization. People are going to move their tokens where they want to, and currently xDai is the only network that you can really trade them on.

MATIC CEO and OMG's community are both seething about xDai. It's kind of hilarious. There is no adoption for either at the community level.

It is funny because xDai is at 1/20th the value as OMG. No one is gong to use OMG.

The tokenomics aren't the best, but if you look at the climbing TVL, Tx per day, and overall long term trend, it is going up. I think though the ease of use is what makes it more popular. People already have to worry enough about ETH's price, why give them a headache and make them worry about their layer 2's token price? Once full POSDAO comes in, the tokenomics will be a bit better and it should moon.

Any token I'm interested on that has liquidity on honeyswap, i've moved to trading it there. It's superior, dai is stable, and the low gas fees make it much easier to dca in or out of a positions.

If I had the money, I would just port in a bunch of liquidity for wbtc onto the network. I think once the wbtc/hny and dai pairs are up and running, the network as a trading environment will mature greatly.

Chai, bridge fees, posdao, also huge adoption is going to lead to more Tx fees being generated.

I already use Dark forest, POAP, Honeyswap on xDai. I have only used Uniswap on ETH, I don't want to pay for dapps on there, way too expensive. For most people xDai will be the best layer 2 solution. Dev's have already decided this. OMG and MATIC are sitting at zero adoption. No one likes the gook scammer jun, or pajeet sandeep. Based Russian lead devs ftw.

sounds cool. too bad the network doesn't pay the bagholders. xdai is cool but it doesn't do shit for holders. stakes only job is to help eth limp along until a scaling solution comes along, which is sooner than you think.

the price will slowly deteriorate until the scaling solution comes in. by the way, gas prices are fine now that Uniswap got their shit together.

>> No.23514570

>>23514394
>by the way, gas prices are fine now that Uniswap got their shit together.
Then why are projects still migrating to xDai? Vitalik himself said that main net will always be expensive to transact on. Basically, the faster eth mainnet gets, the more people will want to go on mainnet. Then the fees go back up. The fees will never stay cheap long on ETH mainnet because it will have global adoption. Side chains/roll ups will become what most people use. Most people will be fine using a sidechain, people that have very valuable stuff (more than you would ever put in a CEX) will probably use Roll ups.
Uni didn't get their shit together, the defi hype died off and people stopped farming all the bullshit tokens. There are already a ton of dapps running on xDai that wouldn't be feasible to run on mainnet. Adoption will continue and the transition to POSDAO will pump it.

sorry for getting off topic

XDAI DOES NOT GENERATE ENOUGH FEES TO MAKE IT WORTH WHILE HOLDING STAKE AND EVEN IF IT WERE TO TAKE ALL OF ETHS CURRENT TX IT WOULD STILL BE THOUSANDTHS OF A CENT PER STAKE PER DAY

the only thing xdai fucked up on is that fees are literally too low
probably couldve done better abt this if they consulted someone who fucking understands incentive models i think
xdai is a great TEMPORARY SOLUTION FOR ETHEREUM
the idea of phase rollouts for eth is great

people need to stop acting like eth isn't a whale/first mover/rich person game because right now IT FUCKING IS

in 10 years when eth controls your toilet paper roll thne sure, i bet you 100 ETH the fee issue will be solved

BUT THIS IS ALL BESIDE MY MAIN POINT THAT NO ONE HAS REFUTED. HOLDING STAKE DOES NOT CONFER VALUE TO THE HOLDER. PERIOD.

this is unfortunate because xdai REALLY IS A GREAT SOLUTION FOR NOW. otherwise enjoy getting dumped on by whales with 20k stake dumping each day because that's the only value generated right now.
