With Bitcoin, XRP and others we keep the FED in check. Then once the switch is flipped so is technology. We will turn lead into gold and transmute other metals. I will personally donate 5kg of golden ropes to all PMG anons. By that time there is a quasi unlimited supply of precious of metals. Gold and Silver, which they have a lot of, and have used it all throughout history to control the goyim will now be worth 0. We regain complete (((financial))) independence and the interdimensional financial war is won, PMG anons are now holding shiny rocks. Everybody else uses monoatomic Gold and other exotic rocks for their personal use.
Btw I am fully unmedicated and I hold XRP

ok heap leaching is simple. It requires low outside moisture and stable temperatures. Its used on lower grade bulk tonnage ore bodies. In this case the ore Rio2 is working with is nearly 100% pure, but its atomically small particles in quartz ore. To recover this gold, you crush the ore into fist sized chunks. Next spread it over several football field wide areas on a massive plastic clay liner. next feeder tubes are added on top of the ore, and a new layer of ore is added. Repeat this until the leach pad is several stories tall. Cyanide and water are pumped into the leach pad through the pipes, where it interacts with the rock dissolving gold. The fluid than drains into a holding pond where its pumped to a processing plant. Its actually really simple, but you need specific types of ore and conditions for the process to be effective. The deserts of Chile are perfect for this.

Hey Pan Man, you know about technical stuff so don't mind if I ask yet another very specific question? I was researching a company doing exploration in Sonora, Mexico and they had a pretty interesting project going on. They are in an option agreement with another company that did extensive surface exploration and over 17,000m drilling (core & RC) beforehand. They commissioned a structural analysis and have found a potential large ore deposit underneath the original 125m deep drill holes. The are preparing to drill the property themselves now and are very optimistic for a 100m wide bonanza grade gold-silver deposit. Care to take a look at these?
https://tocvan.com/tocvan-announces-initial-results-from-structural-analysis-major-structures-or-plumbing-for-gold-silver-mineral-rich-fluids-identified-at-the-pilar-gold-silver-project-in-sonora-m/

I ll have a look, and that happens all the time. However due to some fuck chemistry that is very hard to put into laymans terms these deeper ore bodies are usually lower grade than closer to surface ones. Also its not unusual for a new partner or buyer to do their own drilling on a property to double check the previous results. Its what caught BreX after all.
>>23477963
Older non oxidizing solutions were about 70% effective over 10 years. Meaning over 10 years of pumping fluids through the ore pad, about 70% of gold / silver could be recovered. Newer mixes of cyanide solutions can get as high as 95% recovery rate, but this is also up to environmental and geological conditions. If the temperature swings wildly between seasons than the gold recovery rate will be far lower than on the tin. If the ore has higher sulfide content in some layers than others it will cause lower recovery rates. These usually get factored in when planning a mine to.

So you have been reinvesting for 50 years cumulatively?
The Chart is based off of buying and holding from the starting point. Last smaller bull market abruptly ended around 2011, and gold is at the same level as wilshire.

If you go to the 10 year start point, gold is much lower because the last 10 years have been a bear market.

If you go to the larger bull market in the 80's metals vastly outperformed all the indexes, and again, with no counter party risk.

Stocks have their place, and I do own them, and in normal times I would 100% be throwing 90% of my folio into regular stocks while only allocating 5-10% to PMs as a hedge/savings.

Are there ANY manufacturer's marks that include "Sterling" in the brand name and are not actually composed of sterling silver?
I'm just asking because I see some shit like "International Sterling" and I don't know if it's supposed to be legit or just the brand. As far as I know if "Sterling" is anywhere on the piece (alongside lion hallmark + 925) it MUST be composed of sterling. Is this an improper assumption?

for starters, that was only the US, and it was basically voluntary with minimal enforcement.

Secondly, that was 1974 anon, its almost exactly 50 years and wilshire started in 71, so it is fair to compare the two thing in time.

Thirdly no one said they were identical things, nor even similar, they do not have to be, we do not only have the power to compare extremely similar things. One can very much compare apples to oranges "hey this one is yellow, this one is red, this one is great for pie, this one is great for juice"

When you need pie, use apples, when you need juice, use oranges. The question is what specific market conditions are going on right now, is it a Bull or bear market that is beginning in PM's?
is the stock/fiat currency system just beginning during its pump phase? or is it on its last legs ready to fail as all fiat systems have failed desperately trying to keep on going?

Obviously if you have faith in the current FIAT system, and/or doubt that a bull market in metals is about to occur, you would want to invest in stocks for yields and in areas not related to PM's.

Even the IMF is admitting there needs to be a new monetary system at this point anon.

exactly the point in comparing gold performance to stocks with cumulative dividend investment.

comparing the two, gold loses every time.

But you miss my point. Percentages are based on a starting price, and the starting price of gold was artificial, not organic. By that metric my metals recycling business that I started for a dollar in 2001 has outperformed stocks and gold by more than 20,000% beating gold and stocks by enormous margins. But only because we used an artificial basis for the metric. Just like gold.

I'm not ignoring it, I'm reminding you that moments after it outperformed it immediately dropped back to underpeforming. Because it was just finding its price.

if you happened to buy gold in 1979 and sell it in 1980 then you might have a point, but the chart tracks the spikes and the falls. Trying to glorify the bull runs while dismissing the bear markets only works if you make the chart smaller.

I think above i mention I'm a weatherman by education. You can't, and it's a fools errand. you need to develop an argument for the relative appreciation of an equity and you need to develop an argument for the relative appreciation of gold. Both are going to suffer against inflation. TBQH, your best purchases are probably going to be gold, shelf stable food, shampoo, soap, and skills. Following that list, we'll pick the next best investment because we won't have enough room for that faggot shit because we're likely gainfully employed. Equities have not, can not, and will not, be able to beat inflation. they absolutely will not. They broadly have greatly underperformed inflation (in terms of cost of living and money expansion), and they generally very risky due to overleverage in one form or another (or many). The primary drivers of their appreciation have been used to hell and back and their continued use will develop a stagflationary environment which is beneficial for PM. PM has not maintained new highs and is likely to continue its exponential growth against the US dollar due to the expansion of the US dollar supply and glut of spending. there are hidden dollars everywhere (just like the leverage) and the exponential growth that I mention will likely occur as all of these dollars accounted for in different ways end up looking for ways to be spent. In all likelihood, there are so many dollars that PM will not only appreciate faster than inflation and the cost of living in USD, it will also potentially beat that inflation. I'm not saying to not have some of each, but having less than 25% in PM and a small portion in PM miners should probably be hedged with fucking kneepads.

You're right on every count

the reason history doesn't match your predictions is re-investment. Gold has no mechanism to re-invest gains. Your gold goes up 15%, what are you going to do, sell 15% to buy 15%?

the reason the stock market, business, and real estate outperform is because they either require re-investment or make it the easiest path. That's all.

history may not matter, but historically gold has failed because it has no path to re-investment. No method of building equity by requiring or even allowing gains to be spent on more of itself.

>Gold might not have intrinsic value
this is wrong. There are four metals that can maintain themselves as a unit of account. Gold and Silver are the only ones that are practical. it has intrinsic value because it can be used as money. Bitcoin shares this property, but carries risk that the network could be attacked or deemed untrustworthy. Gold is gold, unless you want to go ahead and claim alchemy for a unit of energy that isn't full retard.

>>23481191
>the reason history doesn't match your predictions is re-investment
this is also wrong. You're right that the growth, by nature would be exponential, given that the asset could continue to provide returns. However there isn't an economic incentive to re-invest into something that always yields and appreciates less than 7% and 10% YoY (every year), which is the rate of inflation.
>Gold has no mechanism to re-invest gains
I did not argue this and I agree.
>Your gold goes up 15%, what are you going to do, sell 15% to buy 15%?
You use the relative appreciation of Gold to purchase a worthy property that will provide you utility or appreciation that exceeds inflation.
>gold has failed because it has no path to re-investment
It has worked exactly how it has supposed to have worked. Gold is a commodity and hard, sound money. That said, there is an extreme case for Gold, real assets, and the developing markets that has been made starting in the 90s or so.

>You use the relative appreciation of Gold to purchase a worthy property that will provide you utility or appreciation that exceeds inflation.
we're ignoring day trading and arbitrage, but those are mostly moot since the advent of bots and algorithms.

gold is very stable, and wealth comes from instability. Perhaps gold is about to become unstable (or fiat is, which is the same thing), but my argument is only about history. We're in a market we have no history to compare to. Gold is probably a great place to be right now, but history says nothing about that.

still not going to concede these assumptions. to play along and fill out the case to buy and hold PM, we've established (I'm doing this for you, /pmg/ newfrens) the following:
>we are very likely headed for if not already experiencing a crisis/massive currency debasement
>gold and silver are likely to appreciate against equities in the near term
we will assume true that:
>the balance of power will likely not shift in the near term
if the US dollar somehow maintains reserve status, i don't think that any sum of welfare/goods/services can fund our liabilities - particularly Medicare, Social security, and other pensions. There will be continued debasement unless magically we accept the terms of reorganizing the debt and renegotiating pensions and Gold and silver will continue to march higher and accelerate.
>but do they beat equities and properties?
likely yes because we're not making enough children and gold and silver are scarce resources.
>but muh immigration to replace people
haha. the only prevention would be a huge breakthrough, and it would just completely earth shattering.
>so then what about deflation anon
we still need PM for a unit of account and industrial/meical use. Additionally, broad deflation will murder corps, the whole house would crumble and crumble much worse than PM due to leverage.

Then I slowly added more to my positions based on different suggested miners and if I thought I was hitting a dip. What I didn't know because of little experience was how long these run-ups and dips can last so I got burned a little. Managed to catch impact on a nice dip but most other miners slowly bleeding out. Thing is that the longer a run-up lasts you start to panic that it won't ever come back down and that money has flowed into a company and everyone has iron hands so you break down , buy, then the stock corrects back down. Very hard thing to time correctly and basically impossible because it's different for every company. For example, impact has corrected from like .8 to .7 and breathes on .75 sometimes throughout the day whereas other miners like silver one have lost like 5% recently. Good opportunity to pick up some silver one, but if you wanted in on impact you could catch another dip or maybe not get another opportunity sub .75. Golden minerals is another one that hasn't seemed to drop all that much in recent days while other miners really fell.

Now I have only 5k left liquid in my account from original 25k and will probably not spend it since anything can happen after the election

Working on getting an initial opinion on grade from people more knowledgable than I on the grade, I'd suggest taking it to an LCS and getting it checked out. I can clearly tell it's the half-moon, so ignore that part if they want to tell you it isn't. It seems better than EF40 to me, but when it comes to Canadian, I know just about Jack and Squat. I'll get back if I get a response.

Not my experience at all, all but one of the shops I've been too has been able to beat the online prices. I've been able to get Canadian Silver Dollars and 5 Bolivares for below spot at times.
However, I doubt my experience is typical since I have two coin shops very close to each other, which forces them into competition with each other.

I've been buying some dips and selling some I overpaid on when they go above what I originally paid using "first in first out" to get my avg cost down. Ok anon... your money, spend it how you want, sometimes the best deal is online, but I have gotten PMs at or below spot, and always cheaper then online by finding the best LCS. I live near a lot of PNW money, so the coin shop I go to is about 15 minutes away and is usually fully stocked in everything. The last couple weeks have been incredibly spotty for them, which I found odd. Silver prices haven't reflected this, nor some other pawn shops I occasionally visit who are now empty.

I know my experience is just anecdotal, but is anyone else ever seeing silver shortages in their area?

Yep, we're seeing shortages on the east coast too. And it's definitely not being reflected in prices. I'm getting the feeling that spot is being artificially held down and big accumulation is taking place right now.
